1 - Marc-Andre ter Stegen

Marc might turn to be worse after this last injury, but in the past 2 years no doubt he was far ahead of Pena. That isn't anything of complement to him either, Pena was absolute shit last year, and this season he upgraded himself into just a meh GK.

So was Stegen last season. I believe if the team plays well, Stegen will do more blunders than Pena.

Yes. This is kind of my view. That’s why Ter Stegen not worthy of being barcas first keeper.

Ideally would have Tek as our 2nd keeper. Replace Ter Static.

Come on mate, you yourself was using Marc injury as an excuse of Xavi season last year.
They weren't comparable at all. There are levels to this and Inaki isn't anywhere near Marc. It is like choosing Jourquera over Valdes

Yeah, because Stegen was good in 2022-23. But as they say even a blind squirrel finds a nut from time to time.

Let's see Stegen do some top saves like Pena did vs Madrid in that 4-0. Probably saved 2-3 goals in 1 vs 1 situation.

Flick ball with Stegen is a recipe for disaster.

Stegen is no Valdes, come on...

I'm a known hater but of course he's better than Pena if you only look at technical stuff and ignore the mental. If one of them should play a CL semifinal I would go with Pena every time (or maybe just forfeit the match, it would probably be for the best in that case).

I dont know how strong pena mentally is. He looks nervous at times. Keeps things very simple. Which is a good thing if you know your limits. He’s more humble than ter stegen at least.

But would need to see him over longer stretch to draw conclusion.

He's a relic from the past who had 2 solid seasons in 10.

Not a top goalkeeper, far from other top club ones.
Not a leader either deserving of that armband.

Also, injury ridden now. If you know he's been a coward on high balls (jumping) you can forget about it now. Also, GL seeing him being fast to rush out to intercept passes when out high line is breached.

There is a way to be respectful towards a player and parting ways in good relations. Barca do not owe Stegen anything.

Thank him for his "service" and kindly say goodbye.

Barca let go much greater legends than him. Why wait until it becomes downright ugly for everyone.

Btw Stegen under Flick, 63.6% save rate, Pena 69.2%. If you care about stats. Considering Pena played vs tougher opponents.

Save percentage is one of the worst states for a GK, especially in era of advanced date.
A better one is post shot xG, it measures the quality of GK saves against quality of finish.
Marc blows Inaki away, who is always negative in it with wide margin.

This season Ter Stegen played 2 games after injury and only 9 league games in total, the last game alone skewed his states massively due to having -1.71 game. So, before injuries Marc was still better than Inaki
