....so much blasphemy and selective amnesia on displayIf Lamine gets close to 40% of Messi, Barcelona should roll out the drums for a whole year.....and for comparatives, Penaldo was about 60-65%of Messi.

We should hope he reaches as high as possible but if someone think he can reach Messi he's deluded. But that doesn't mean he won't be the best player of his generation.

I think he misses pace to become in dribbling as good as Messi, young Messi was extremely fast with the ball and could dribble 4-5 with ease.
Yamal's vision and passing have been exceptional, in these categories he could become nearly as good as la pulga.
In terms of int.career he has reached more than la pulga until 35!! Potential is there but 60% of Messi would be already enough🤔

Why are people ruling out Lamine ever reaching Messi level? Sure, it's highly unlikely that one day we will reflect to these 2 players and say Lamine was overall the better one - but by no means is it impossible.
Literally, sky is the limit for this guy. He may not be capable of reproducing some of the magic only Messi was familiar with, but he can develop a different set of qualities that would compensate for that.
For example, young Cristiano. Who would've thought he would eventually surpass so many players on all time list, being visibly a player with less technique. But eventually he developed something different, something new, he put up a lot of effort and now he usually sneaks in top 5 all time players.

Yamal can only dream of being a better passer than Messi at 17. Everyone around him knows this and he would dare not utter that himself.
Its either you didn't watch Messi in his break out season or you just wanted to be cheeky.
Maybe as someone stated earlier it was time to have another "poster boy", so all attempts to diminish La Pulga via baseless comparison was welcome.

No one is downplaying Yamal, but go back and watch Messi at 18 and compare both of them. One is way more explosive and quicker. There's a significant difference in how Messi could dribble past 2-3 players with ease and accelerate past them. That's likely what is going to stop Yamal from reaching that level.
If people find it realistic that Yamal reaches the level of the greatest footballer of all-time then they're deluded or have too high expectations.

Was Santos Neymar more talented than current Yamal? I don't think so. Neymar was more of a trickster but Yamal now is already world class at decision making. Very good dribbler, also can be tricky one though not as much as Neymar.
Bear in mind that Yamal is just a 17 years old boy. He is already world class player, performs week in week out.

Messi and Yamal are completely different players style-wise. He's closer to Neymar style-wise.
We should stop this Messi comparison. There won't be ever a player that comes close, not in this decade atleast.
