And the solution is what? Sell the club to some sheik or American billionaire?

why not sell to a responsible owner whose values resemble those of Barcelona? It is not as if allowing old farts to vote on the club's future has resulted in anything noteworthy, right?

Malvolio only ever supports the old players that are long done.

Claiming not long ago Pique is best CB, Alba is still top player, Busquets doesnt deserve the criticism etc.

Guy is a moron who just pines for Messi and any old player.

All about 'trophies'.... Ferrran has won a EPL, Christensen won the CL, Kessie won Serie A, Lewa won the CL and German league etc.

These are all better 'trophies' than Messi and these old Barca amigos have won in the last 3 years.

Never a truer word has been spoken on this forum, he was the true heir to the throne. Fair play to him, he's dedicated the last few years to teaching Iniesta a few things in Japan.

Bring back Iniesta and Samper together.

I don't know who we will got as CDM, but I know nobody here with reason will not be satisfied.

I would not be suprised with names as Parejo, Marc Roja, some random Bilbao players or someone like Zubimebdi/Neves, or Julian Weigl.

We will not go for Fabinho/Tchoumeni type of player for sure.

Ohh wait Jorginho will be free on summer!!!!

Those are some truly underwhelming names.

Neves and Tielemans are not CDMs. Jorginho and Kante are probably going to start slowing down if I had to bet and hardly anything more than a short-term solution or band-aid. Sangare is an interesting profile being physical, but he looks pretty damn slow and while his technique is not bad at all it does seem like he doesn't have the touch to get out of trouble if pressed versus better teams. Zubimendi is a good player, but has some of the same issues Busquets currently has and is not worth 60m euros.

Tchoumeni was really such an amazing profile that it hurts that Real Madrid signed him.

Guys like Enzo Fernandez and Romeo Lavia really need to be looked at. They won't be cheap either and whilst they might be playing a more B2B style currently for their teams they have grown up playing as CDMs.

More importantly I want us to sign a player who actually has a desire to be great, be physical and isn't soft because honestly when I look at some of our players compared to other teams they are just soft. Frenkie for example has really disappointed me in this regard. We seriously need some ballers that are great players as well as willing to do anything to win.

To avoid that happening they will need to spend money to become one of the top clubs in Europe again. They cannot sign players from the flea market and hover around CL exits or R16 exits while being the eternal #2 in Spain to Real Madrid for a few more years.

Also need a great manager. Xavi is on borrowed time if he doesn't learn from his mistakes. There's one thing to have underwhelming results and there's another thing playing predictable, shitty football where all we do is cross the ball from the flanks to create chances.

Although to be honest I think Barca selling off a stake and becoming a S.A.D is inevitable anyway in the future. Maybe not until 10-15-20 years though but I can see it happening.

I would say the most important part is to forget about single pivot system. It's time is over and there is no one who can protect defense and help in build up at the same time playing a single pivot.
You mention Tchoumeni for example, but he has the same issues you mention about those players, and his team has to make switches and some "your turn, my turn" movements while other players take some of the burden from him.

Once you make that decision to evolve that style, it simply open things or us and many of the options simply don't look as bad.
