if it wasn't for Alba's wages and the fact he refused a cut, Xavi would still have him as 1st choice. Laporta probably making Xavi put pressure on him by benching, Xavi got credit on here for dropping him but I'm starting to think it's more off-field than his shit performances on it/tactics - which is tragic in itself.

He looks clumsy and most importantly extremely slow.
He could work in a purely deep block defensive Italian team or whatever. But not a modern full back by no means.

He played his best football as an LWB in a 3ATB system under the likes of Conte where he was afforded the protection and freedom to push forward as he always had that 3rd CB and Midfield to help cover for him.

As a pure LB, he's pure garbage from what he's shown so far, Just so slow and clumsy and bad at both ends of the pitch. We have had some bad Fullbacks but he's certainly up there with them.
