Not how deferred wages work

That's exactly how deferred wages work you nimrod!

When he extended in 2020, he agreed to make less the first 2 seasons, and gradually increase annual salary until his 23/24 season with 40m gross.

If contract is terminated, club doesn't owe him jack-shit from the day of termination onwards.

Educate yourself before posting your nonsense

No, hence why club is still paying Messi what is owed despite his contract ending.

You're thinking of the FDJ situation which was a different financial matter entirely.

LOL

You are a special idiot, aren't you?

If there are payments deferred outside of the length of the contract (AS in MESSI's case), the club is still liable to the payments
If there are payments deffered BUT adjusted and included in a NEW contract signed (as in Pique's, Frenkie's, Busi's, Alba's and others case), then when the contract ends, there is no other payments to make

Get it??

Try to keep up with reality yourself.
It's the case in all renewals/deferrals that were settled with the club, hence all the players I mentioned who didn't take a cut but deferred after agreeing with the club.

When wages are deferred with new contracts, all the wages deferred are included in the contract. That's why they sign it in the first place.

What saves us in Pique's case is the termination clause if he plays less than 35% this season, and not that we can just ignore payments as you assumed

Jordi Alba renewed in 2019 pre pandemic

No new contract in sight unlike what you claimed

The case is exclusive to FDJ as his agent was an amateur.

Happy to educate you

Pique, Alba, and Busi agreed to deferrals last summer (2021) when we had problems registering players.
New contracts were signed then, or amendments of their active contracts.
Easy
Get it?

Pique had agreed earlier (in 2020 together with Frenkie, MATS and Lenglet) to defer wages to 'help the club due to Covid'
He signed a new contract then, extending his old one to 2024

Club still paying Messi after his contract expired

Easy? Good!

LOL
Messi's contract ended in 2021 you NIMROD!
Deferred wages were agreed to be included in his new contract, which he NEVER SIGNED, because we couldn't register him according to FFP rules.
Then the club could NOT enter a new contract for him in LL, BUT had some deferred wages from 2020 to pay.
HENCE, the club is still paying him outside of any contract because they could NOT sign a contract
GET IT?

Pique, Alba, Busi, Frenkie, Lenglet
ALL OF THEM signed a new contract whenever they deferred
Messi didn't
GET IT?

No because Alba deferred wages to the end of his existing contract, which is STILL active.
Same with Pique in his last deferral (2021).
Club wanted to include Messi's deferred wages to the NEW contract which MEssi never signed.

You can't get what a deferral is

So easy to get it if you are above 5 yrs old

@clowngician

Guide for Dummies:
Simple example of BEFORE AND AFTER deferral and renewal

BEFORE: Pique's contract signed in 2018

"The centre-back extended his contract in 2018 on a five-year deal, which would see him earn a staggering €142 million over the course of the deal"
That's roughly 28.5 m GROSS per year
"could rise up to €15 NET million including add-ons"
If you add bonuses it's 30m GROSS per year

AFTER: Contract renewal signed in 2020
"- 2020/21 season: €18m gross
- 2021/22 season: €27.7m gross
- 2022/23 season: €29.5m gross
- 2023/24 season: €40.8m gross"

He deferred 11-12m GROSS in 20/21 to receive them in 23/24, on the top of 2 more years of contract.

If club legally terminates his contract in 2023 based on a clause of the contract, bye bye to all wages for 23/24
There is no outstanding payment that the club owes him
