I sincerely hope it is not true and Laporta and the scouting team are not buying players just because Pep told us they're good whilst he tries to sell them.

No one gains from these statements if it is true.
Laporta wouldnt, Xavi wouldnt and the players wouldnt either.
Poor judgement if has done that.
Type of thing that makes Barca look like lacking leadership/professionalism and would put top coaches off being part of.
Too often pissing off players and making statements that make job tougher for coach.
Wanting to be in middle of things with players when can celebrate and get the attention when things going well while slagging them off behind back would not go down well.

I don't think it's appropriate to say that to 'over 50 people' knowing your words will probably be leaked soon after.
He is a club president not a fan, his words are important. As jamdav said above helps nobody and not the sort of thing a president should say publicly about a new young player.
