Agreed that La Liga salary cap should have been relaxed until COVID's impact is completely cleared, but should be done for all clubs and not just us and Madrid.

To be fair, Madrid was never hindered by the cap and I don't think the salary cap is the reason why Madrid didn't get Mbappe. They probably couldn't afford to match PSG's offer or they could but didn't want, I am guessing.

To be honest, we have rarely seen a more deserving CL winner than during Covid CL. Bayern stomped every team during the competition bar PSG in finals. The best team winning a cup based competition isn't that common. See Madrid this year. This is also the magical side of CL. If it was league based, prolly Guardiola would have won a few already after Bar?a.

I don't get the "premium" part. I mean who is to tell clubs that they can't accept sponsorships that are worth only say, $100,000 a deal and all they have to do is to flash the name of the sponsor on the billboard for like 3 seconds during a game? PSG or any club could get a ton of these sponsorships, I mean.

Agreed. Mbappe went full Raiola, and gave himself the greatest control of his future he could with PSG by signing on short term contract.

Interestingly, Haaland has a get out in 2 years with the release clause, and Mbappe in 3 with his expiring contract. So the door is open for a Real move for both.
