messi failed to deliver for barcelona when he most needed to do it for 3-4 years before he left. one or two times is fine. 5-6? no thanks, especially when youre supposed to be the best player in the world, and in the eyes of some, ever. but he cant score a PK when he needs to and in the last two years, even when he was captain, he never even bothered to try against real madrid. no thanks.
to say nothing of his weak, deafeatist, indifferent attitude, head and shoulders down when barca needed SPIRIT and BALLS. these are things messi never has had--well, not since like 2015, and on fewwwwwwwwww occasions after that.

Should have taken a pay cut and re-signed with us. Liking other clubs on Instagram to accelerate tansfer rumours before contract extension.

Yeah no. Suggesting that Messi was good unless you compare him with prime Messi is ridiculous.
As I said earlier, even a decent striker like Lautaro would be an upgrade over Messi in that PSG team.

We have to take the standards of a player who is playing in a top club. Otherwise we could let 50 years old men play and if they play 2 good passes and make one run we have to say they played well as they are already 50. Messi had imo a solid match, 3 top passes but we can expect more from him.

You just forgot to mention that he singlehandedly carried this team during his last few years here. In 2019 he carried this pathetic team on his back to the SF of CL. Unfortunately that was not enough. According to you he should have won it alone.
One year after he left we are fighting for a TOP 4 spot in La Liga but SF of CL was not enough for some of you.
