Not sure if I will laugh about Man City. Not really care for them either way to be honest. PSG however, now that?s another story...

This was City's/Pep's golden moment. They blew it. Next year surely other teams will be much better. Also you can't lose such good CL opportunities, stars don't align for you every year (unless you're RM).

City will have another go and eventually win it. PSG the same. Chelsea was there or thereabouts before they lucked out with Di Mateo.
It's the same teams in the KOs every year so City winning it is bound to happen.

League = technique, good subs
Cups = technique, leaders, hunger, clutch players, mental strength

Imo, you can totally survive without mental strength in league, as long as you are technically superior.

More like Cups = good draw(not even talking about facing weaker teams, but teams that your game works against), momentum, reaching peak form at the right time, your players don't get injured, refereeing decisions go your way + mental fortitude, clutchnes, leaders

If city don't win in the next couple of years it could be a long wait for them. Real, Barca, Juve all going through somewhat transition periods so are very beatable atm. Can all change in just a few transfer windows though. I expect City to spend like mad this summer. Plus they might offload Sterling and bring in 40m-50m off that.

All the doom and gloom about City when they are a top side currently and far better run than all the other clubs around + have infinite money. Real, Barca, Juve are currently in shambles. They'll either win it with Pep or some lucky fucker comes along and does it at first try. It is bound to happen.

Ciry will likely make it to half-final at least next year. And without Pep implosion might actually win it this time.

My comment wasn't doom and gloom just a short analysis of what's going on. City are far better run and hence have 2-3 seasons where they will still be far ahead of the likes of Barca, Real, Juve. After a few seasons it's likely those teams will be back or at least one will be. Next few seasons are the best chance city will have to win the ucl

Barca and Real might not return that quick to being so dominant, as they'll not have freaks like Messi and Ronaldo. They'll just be in the KOs like all other big clubs as CL is geared towards that. Don't know why you're mentioning Juve, they won it 26 years ago.
City could get Kane and 2-3 other players and dominate for years to come.

Barca/Real will always have decent squads apart from the odd couple of transition years. Mentioning Juve because under Allegri (who they've just signed) they reached ucl finals and regularly got far. Not saying they'll win but they could eliminate anyone along the way if they get back to where they were. Liverpool were off the pace this year without Van Dijk, but he'll be back. They sign Kane and they have 2-3 years to dominate, agreed. That's what I mean though, they've got a few seasons where they are one of the favourites and then other teams will catch up.

City will (should?) Win the CL in the next few years with or without Pep.

He has them dominating England, signing great players and playing great every year. Maybe that's enough and both parties are happy with it.

On the other hand, I don't see a problem with taking the project in a new direction with a new world class manager. It is not as if Pep is the answer and the solution. It is just that he was their first and only world class managerial hire.

In terms of Pep, he can get good money in a different project with different tests still. Surely as a Barcelonista it would be of interest to bring Barcelona back to glory with the new challenges in world football?

Sometimes I don't understand that man. But then I realize I was never meant to. It's the same guy who could not take his physical limitations and looked at other means to keep competing as an athlete afterall.
