Football is a team sport. When you lot post about how poorly Juve are doing and lay the blame on the feet of CR you are only validating BarcaOG's claims about Messi.

Vice versa.. It's his claim of relating team result to messi's performance as if he's playing 1 vs 11 that initially made the juve ronaldo correlation. Otherwise, we won't. We all know that ronaldo also doing rather fine in his age with this version of juve. Just not the top performer. And i personally think messi has been below average (everybody does) in first part of the season, but also think in the 2nd part, he's definitely at least top 2 or 3.

At least he's not what made Barcelona struggle to get the league. On the contrary, its been fabulous that we manage to get this far. Look at how far below has Barca went during 1st half of this season. Beside Granada, i have no regret to this 2021 barca, not even losing to madrid or psg.

Despite aging and the subsequent decline, he has been class this season. The only reason we (along with De Jong and Griezmann) had a fighting chance for the league this season. I'm fully on the pro-messi side now. Even if he pulls out 0 goals and assists next season, dude does not deserve criticism whatsoever. It's not his fault we've underperformed in the past few years, not even close.

We are not comparing the players, but the performances put in a well-defined context.
If we compare the players, Messi is a Creator- a complete player. Lewa is a Finisher. Messi is one of the Best-All-Times; Lewa is one of the best finishers of his generation.
All players in the world now need a good system to flourish and give their best, though. Actually, Lewa has the wingers and the offensive system that he likes. At the other side, Leo still doesn't have the 9 or the winger that will complete him on the field.
As for BallonD'Or, it's a pointless discussion this year, as no player has been "distinctive" enough to claim it clearly. And we cannot known the favorites before the month of July.
And personally I think that what is more important actually is team's titles before individual awards. That is what Messi needs himself: Trophies !

Thanks, had read the wrong informations. Anyways, 99 goals in 143 match and 38 goals in 48 while having rabiot, ramsey, arthur, matuidi, bentacur is pretty good.
