He's going to ramp up his activity and try to train as if he's close to returning, basically at full intensity. If he suffers inflammation in the knee again and it doesn't go well he'll go for the surgery.

Surgery doesn't automatically mean removing the damaged part of the meniscus I think, there can be surgery to stitch it again, and hope this time it heals better. But if it doesn't, then, unfortunately, Fati is probably gonna be one of those players who don't have their meniscus by the time they retire.

Besides it's reported there's no long-term damage for him as they're not going to remove the meniscus. It's more of a nuisance for him since the recovery will just take much longer than anticipated and he'll miss the Euros where he'd have been a starter for Spain and likely their best player tbh.

Fati probably feels bad if he misses the Euro but he is young and still has a lot of years ahead of him. Personally I don't care about the Euro or the Spanish NT at all, take as much time as needed to recover, if he needs to miss part of the season season, so be it. Do everything with his career in mind, not the Euro or returning soon etc.
