Lionel Messi - v7

Messi has been a disgrace.

He and Suarez have no intention of defending.

He wasn't even getting the ball for long periods of the game. We were too busy giving it away. We have no player in our team, besides Messi, who can create things or can keep hold of the ball when under pressure.

I find it funny Messi is the first one to get the blame. And the lack of effort? What do you want him to do? Run around all game chasing a lost cause, all because his teammates played terribly and kept giving it away at the back. When Messi did have it, he created what chances we did have.

I just want a system again. Don't care if it's Barcelona B players playing. But when a team runs 115 km, there's less chances to be blown apart.

uahhaah you're blaming Messi. That's funny

It's not nice to say, but for the last few years, he is good enough for La liga and not good enough against big teams anymore.
At Camp Nou in a CL he is still good.
His away form in a CL KO matches is atrocious.

NOT because of EV, Setien and his teammates.

He is 33, tired and without that spark.

2 years of me telling you and you’re coming around to the idea at last

I've read so many posts from several users about how a team in modern football cannot compete without wingers. It can't compete with a player or more doing nothing in defense. Constantly saying it results in multiple tactical issues REGARDLESS of the coach in charge.

All of these comments being shot down with "He's the goat, he can do whatever he wants" lol. That right side, once again, was completely taken advantage of in a UCL game. 2 UCL humiliations might have not done it, but a 3rd one capping off with an 8-2 might have finally done.

Shit match but on the bright side, most of these players are definitely going now. And no one can justify giving Messi's salary atm, we need wingers.

Don't want him to leave. Would be a horrible way to end his career at Bar?a.

But he needs to have all the power stripped away from him. And his salary.

Barçapocalypse NOW!
Of course it is his fault! He allowed this to happen, he enabled so many useless people within the club and this are the consequences! IT IS HIS FAULT!

I'm forever thankful for what he's done, and he's the best ever, but that doesn't take away that this is on him...

He is 33 but still a top player. Of course he can't run like ten years ago. Put him in a team with a good game tatics and players who believe in their coach and you'll see

I'm never going to blame Messi at all. He's done so much for the team, that he should never get the blame, especially when we have those idiots in charge of the club.

Did he lack some effort tonight? Of course. But the whole team were a joke. We lost that game after 27 minutes.... with countless mistakes. And you're expecting a 33-year-old Messi to carry an average and old team. Also, he barely got the ball tonight.... because his teammates kept giving it away. He couldn't find him at all; that's what happens when you have nobody who can create or can control the ball. When he did have it, he created whatever chances we did have.

His head hasn't been in it ever since the loss at Anfield. He did his part in the first leg, but his teammates let him down in the 2nd leg. Yet again, this falls upon the board. They've overspent on overrated players. They've brought in the wrong managers.

But if I were Messi, I would definitely be thinking of moving to another team. There's no way we'll be back at the level we were anytime soon. Messi definitely deserves another Champions League. As I said, I'm not blaming Messi. He's done too much for us. And I find it disgusting that people always blame him as soon as we lose. So many fake supporters..... when they know exactly who is to blame for this.

Anyway, we don't deserve you, Messi. Do what is best for you. I wish you the best of luck!

Anyway. Whatever happens. Even if he leaves which I think he should do.

I hope people don't paint him as some villain and trash talk him and his legacy. Despite all of this, what Messi has done for Barca outweight everything that's transpired the last few years.
