Yeah, I've seen them play lately and I have to say, I'm not impressed. They are getting lucky late goals and good referee decisions. Hardly impressive. They are lacking energy and it's been a long season.

For most of the season they have been like this. Great defense and nicking a result. Very different feel and play than last year where they would run you off the park frequently but also be prone to the defensive/goal keeping blunder.

I think they looked better last season.

Liverpool is just a brutal matchup, doesn't really matter if they're really good or how they play lately.

So is there no chance that they look at the Smalling assault on Messi retrospectively ??

It looks worse each time I see it !!

How was their young and inexperienced Scott McTominay able to be arguably the best midfielder on show ??

BBZ would say we didn't have enough muscle in midfield, you'll say it had something to do with Rakitic  but honestly, more likely because the ref let him get away with foul after foul

It was kind of sad to see us struggling to beat their press to be honest because generally that is considered our biggest strength. Problem is to beat the press you need:
1) Clean passing
2) Good first touch/ball control
3) Synchronized movement

1 was off with almost all of our players today. I saw 2 from Messi Arthur and Semedo, and maybe Coutinho a little bit. 3 was not too great not too bad I guess but never came into play because 1 and 2 usually let us down. The worst part was after a few failed attempts we practically stopped trying and just resorted to hoofing it upfield only to concede posession.

We did play Atletico so it's hopefully just because of that. Don't want to see that in the second leg though.

i'll take the win but that was an embarassing match. this is a very average united side and yet on the whole they were the better team. i actually thought the performance was humiliating. imagine us playing like this against a SAF united or against liverpool...it would be awful

Liverpool haven't been great since the start of the new year.

I ain't worried about playing them at all.

We may play like shit at times like today, but we aren't easy to beat. That's been evident through the season.

I'll give the team a break if we play a lot better at Camp Nou. I understand that we just came from a tough game against Atletico.

Let's rest our key players against Huesca and give the fans a show next week.

Well their defense is much better this year, probably best in the world--from their defensive mids to backline to goalie. (I think Barca is probably #2).

They have not been as explosive offensively and have have certainly not pressed as much.

I would put Barca a slight favorite, maybe 55 or 60 to 45 or 40. however I think it would come down to one key play as both teams would struggle to create against the other.
