Gomes is your favourite player in our squad then?
We've won the CL vs a physically strong United with 3 field players over 1,8. Now our starting eleven has Suárez, Piqué, Umtiti, Busquets and Rakitic all over 1,8. Barça is a team destined to outplay opponents, not to beat them through muscle physicality.

Watch the PL or boxing if you prefer strong tall men.

Funny thing to say when Barca's success over the past 10 years has mainly been down to some key players with very light frames, Messi being the main one. Coutinho checks most of the traits that we need. Size and grit does not necessarily go hand in hand. Verratti would also be a dream signing that would fit us perfectly, and he's not exactly The Mountain either, but would serve us better than a player like Pogba.

Rakitic for me is very good, I don't know why we bought Gomes.
Pogba is not average technique + he is tall, he can defend and physically very strong.

Rakitic has been good for Barca, but his physique is not the main reason why. Apart from his height he isn't very physically strong, and is painfully slow, I mean the guy must have a 100m dash personal best time of roughly 57 minutes. He is a scrappy player though, but more importantly reads the game well, has excellent technique, excellent passing and a great shot. That's why he's been quite successful here.

In the end, had Liverpool not sucked like us so far this transfer window and made some proper signings, he might have ended up staying or it might have been easier for them to digest if it goes through.

Real Madrid's two great center midfielders Kroos and Modric are hardly physical. Kroos is tall, but defending and physicality have been his main issues since early days at Bayern.

This crap about big, physical players is so EPL where their teams fail repeatedly in Europe.
