In this day and age, almost everyone is too lazy to just analize things in detail and form their own distinct opinion, so they let others fabricate their memories for them (corporations, PR machines, stars themselves). I'm sure most plastic fans will remember Ronaldo being stretchered off the field in the final with France, more than the golazo which won them the actual cup.

He's right though. Cronaldo is the big favorite to win the Ballon d'or. If he was asked who is better between Messi and Cronaldo, he'd obviously pick Messi.
I would have prefered him saying Cristiano is "one" of the favorites to win it, while also supporting Messi saying he was one of the favorites to win it also, hell even include himself because he's a worthy contender.
the ballon d'or shouldn't be just given to the person who has won more trophies, portugal as a team won the euro for Cristiano, this is a team sport afterall, it should be given to the best player in the world who awes audiences every weekend, I wouldn't really consider Cristiano to be in that category, just disappointed that Neymar took the easy route saying that.

Pepe? Sure, you could argue, but who will vote for Pepe lol. Nani? No way. In terms of skill they were probably equal, but in my book being the captain and doing a good job at that accounts for a lot as well.

Don't understand why some of you are so worked up about CR winning the ballon d'or. He played an important (even if not crucial) part in winning the two biggest trophies of the year. Obviously that does not make him better than Messi, far from it, but CR earned the ballon this year and hey! that's okay.
