Sell Messi or Neymar this summer?

Ok ok, calm down, put away the pitchforks and hear me out...

This is of course a purely hypothetical question that has little root in reality (or my own hopes and dream, for that matter), but the rumor mill will no doubt churn on the closer we get to summer. Will Nerman get bored with being number two? Will evil Pep lure Messi to City? Will the pull of a glamorous life in Manchester be too hard to resist for Nerman, or will the lawsuit get the better of the relationship between him and the club? Silly theories will pop up every now and then, and both players will no doubt be linked with several moves before the summer window closes.

The greatest ever will turn 29 in six months, and despite his deserved godlike status here in Barcelona, one could be tempted to let him go, if the 250M release clause was met (... right?). Nerman, though, while not being quite as good as Messi, is clearly the future of our club. He's only turning 24 soon, and will most likely have 5-7 more stellar seasons in him. The choice is surprisingly hard for me actually, even though my heart easily tells me to hold on to Messi, my brain is thinking Nerman would be the smart man's pick for the future...

We're obviously not selling both, but If we were forced to sell either one, who'd be your pick?

So why is this even a thing and where is the hold on to them both with everything we fucking have option?

If I absolutely had to pick, I'd keep Neymar, strictly because he's younger but the thing with Messi is that I don't expect him to really start declining until his mid 30s, so he still feasibly has 4-5 seasons of this form left in him, which could result in 2-3 CLs for whomever he plays for. That's why is asinine that we and the board even consider these bids. Simply deny the transfer request and negotiate strongly with extending their contracts when they ask for it.

It's similar to the Bravo vs MAtS comparison, except fortunately we're not restricted to playing with only one forward.

Messi is more important right now, but Neymar is the future. Getting rid of Neymar would cripple us far too much, as we'd be in a situation without both Messi and Neymar (and Suarez) in the near future.

Hey, look, Alik voted Messi! Turn your pitchforks that way!

What would the fun in that be?

Yeah, but neymar has his tax problems, and his dad might convince him to leave for them. And then we'd be without both too. Messi also has a legion of fanboys wanting to play with him.

Why are we speculating?

Messi will leave for Manchester City and his close friends Neymar and Suarez will follow him.:coffee:

It would just boost our finances greatly and we could play Douglas at the RW, Adriano at LW and Mathieu as a Striker - the real trio - DAM.

imo, unless messi wants otherwise, he should retire at barcelona, whenever that may be. his contribution and service to the club have been unparalleled.

on the other hand, i don't think neymar will spend the entirety of his career at barca, his entourage is amongst the shadiest i've seen and sooner or later (most likely when barca is not performing at elite levels) his dad is likely to entertain other financially lucrative options.

I dont get it really! I know its just an if-if-if-if-if-question... but why think about something when we have these amazing players in our team, and they are best friends too.. imo we should just be damn happy to have them all happy and not worry about such things.. :)

Because... We can?

Really, despite making a heretical poll like this, I do fancy MSN quite a fair bit... They're alright.
