Great game and goal yesterday. From what I have seen during the last couple of months from him, he is going to be a star. Bit sad that he was on trials here but we didn't see the potential. If he keep developing at this rate, then he could easily play here soon. The South African striker type I simply love alongside guys like Lautaro Martinez.

Hudson Odoi was excellent aswell.

Great player fast pacey great control and finishing gonna be a star for sure.

He had a trial with us (and Man United) in 2017. It's possible he wasn't considered talented enough at that time and has developed great since then. Our scouts/youth coaches have tens or hundreds of kids at trials every year so it's understandable they'll miss on a few of them as even the best ones often can't project how players in that age 15-17 range will develop in next years, especially if they see those players for just a week or two. Arsenal had two more years to follow him and decide he's good (and cheap) enough to be worth an investment.

We'll never know if Martinell would develop into the same player (and with the same projection for the future) if we'd sign him in 2017. In theory he should training under better coaches in better facilites etc. but in reality he could've struggled to adapt living in a different country away from his familly and friends at that young age which could negatively affect his football development.

^ I agree
+ Saka has not renewed his contract yet. We should try and offer Umtiti for him.

Why would Arsenal swap one of the most promising LBs in the world for an injury prone Umtiti. They will surely prefer someone like Upamecano and they are also getting back William Saliba who had a great season on loan at Saint-Etienne.
