Bought for 20.5 m valued at 40.5 m now. Plays RW or LW but also excelled as a Central Striker. Some speculation could he replace Aguero? Scored a delightful hat trick. Was bought to replace Sane. Definitely one for today and tomorrow. Would love to see him developed as a centre forward.
Nissan goal of the season winner.

Could not be clearer. ‘Some speculation’…..’was bought to replace Sane’ Crystal clear. Have a good night. Bye.

He hasnt 'excelled at CF' and the rest of it is meaningless to point with valuation etc.

Cant be clearer either... whoever speculated he can replace Aguero is making nonsense ludicrous claim.

Yes he has. .

Pep. The Man City manager said: "Not just this evening, of course this evening was important, but his first season in England and his numbers are exceptional. He came as a winger, but he has to think about (being) a striker. When Sergio, Gabriel were out, he was there. He scored against Leeds and Crystal Palace. He didn't have many minutes, but when he played, he had a sense of goal.
Yeah, he can be [a No 9]. We will use him, we used him and he was brilliant. His rhythm, especially defensively he has improved a lot. The game at Palace, he makes a turn [in his season] - so good. The movement he makes as a striker, for the [third] goal, it hits the bar and where it goes, he knew it.

"The smell, the strikers know, intuitively where it will arrive. He has this talent and the first goal is fantastic. Very pleased.

Maybe I have to think about how he can play as a striker because every time he plays in that position, he always has a real sense of goal. He is an incredible signing for us as a young player, he can play in three positions up front, but playing more central, he has an incredible sense of goal."

Former City defender Joleon Lescott told Sky Sports: "Maybe. It's a lot of pressure to put it all on him and say you've got to be the No 9 for next season but he's definitely in the running for being in that slot.
"We spoke about him before the game and he seems a natural successor for Aguero, especially in that No 9 role, and he proved it against Newcastle."

How good is he? Seems like such a bargain for those 20-25m.

I like him a lot, very raw still but intelligent, skilled and has the look of an ambitious player - can play on either flank or even in the hole

The trick really for him is to become a world class goalscorer when he hasn't really been a bonafide goalscorer - he is simply a danger man who can create for others and get himself into scoring positions. He's similar in many ways to Pedro but taller, stronger and may even be quicker

Torres now only needs three goals to be Spain’s top goalscorer before the age of 22, with Real Madrid legend Raul holding the record on 13. It’s a record he could beat, given he has three, potentially four games to do it in too. Sport witness.

He has scored 10 goals in 20 games.

Romero claiming this is the man Barca want from City and Torres has told Pep he wants to go.

If this in pipeline then FDJ to City could happen.

Getting him instead of Sterling (really hope we don't get him regardless) would be an absolute master stroke, but I can't see it happening from either our side (financially wise) nor Pep willing to let him go. But Ferran is actually the one player from City I would love to get most, alongside Bernardo Silva.

Could have signed him for peanuts in what could have been the most obvious transfer target in recent history.

What do Barca boards get paid for?

This is interesting

Barca are negotiating with Manchester City for the possible signing of Ferran Torres. The winger has told Pep Guardiola he wants to come to Barca, but Guardiola will have the final say on the situation. [twitch: gerard_romero]

He has scored 12 goals in his 22 games for Spain and only 21 yrs old
