Well teams are allowed 2 or 3 designated players whose salary exceeds the cap.
But believe it or not Nesta (as well as Ferrari) aren't DPs, only Di Vaio is.

Can't say I feel the same. He has pretty much single handedly confirmed the stereotype many Aussies had towards Italian footballers. I agree about Sydney being disgusting though.
