Ernesto Valverde - V1

Yes EV told Alba to play like shit so we could gift Liverpool free goals after all that hard work in the first leg.

If you watch the key 2nd goal from Liverpool, Rakitic is the one at fault. Alba made the error for the first goal.

But the one at fault above all was Valverde, for being again a scared little shit.

Rakitic, Alba both shit the bed. What is EV meant to do? Tell them not to make basic errors?

So, this fuck up is certainly staying next season, so lets summon things up and face with facts what should we expect:

1. Core players(pique, busquets, rakitic, alba, messi, suarez) are one year older, and they are the players with most minutes except mats(hahah).

2. Reinforcment in de jong, and possible griezmann and de ligt.

3. That means that in every part of the field we would have on paper one 'better' player then we had this season.

So, now with possibilites.

If griezmann and de ligt are coming, its obvious we would sell some players.

Cillessen, umtiti, semedo, coutinho, dembele, malcom are the most obvious ones that would go on transfer list, considering that retardo loves rakitic till death, and doesnt have the balls to offload suarez or busquets.

So lets say that we sell malcom, umtiti, cillessen, gomes and in best case scenario get for all of them more then 100m.

So that leaves us with more or less this possible roster:

Mats, semedo, roberto, pique, de ligt, lenglet, todibo, alba, wague, busquets, rakitic, de jong, arthur, alena, coutinho, vidal, dembele, griezmann, suarez and messi.

Thats the best squad in the world by the mile, a total mix of young and experienced players that SHOULD dominate over everyone.

But, it is what it is

Retardo, cmon man.

Drop Rakitic instead of licking his balls is a good place to start.

Alright, Rakitic sucks. Now let's compare him to the fan favourite Arthur:

So while Rakitic may not to be suited to be a starter at the club anymore how can you blame Valverde for constantly selecting him when according to all the unbiased metrics he still reigns supreme? This forum obviously prefers Arthur as the lad resembles more of a total football midfielder than Rakitic does, but try looking at things from the coach's perspective.

Most would like to start playing total football again, that is all. Rakitic has served us well. So has Valverde if I'm being fair, but it's time for both to move on. Sadly, we're stuck with both.

For now. Things will change with the next trophyless season. The board and the manager are hiding past the 2 La Ligas won against crap rivals, and are using this as an alibi. Next La Liga will be way tougher.

No La Liga title next season and it is bye bye Valverde and possibly Bartomeu as well. Not even mention the possibility of a 4th CL for Zidane's Madrid.

Half of Madrid's new signings will flop. A few more will struggle to adapt in the early months and maybe one will hit the ground running. You can't replace half your starting XI in one summer and expect the team to perform straight away. Just look at how it worked out for Pep in his first season at City. This isn't FIFA career mode mate, team chemistry and harmony takes a while to build.

We will also be signing Griezmann, De Jong and maybe De Ligt this summer. Our team is also getting better and we're not going to be changing as much. Zidane's tactics aren't suited for the league either.

Stop it with this ridiculous fear-mongering. We will win the league comfortably again, be favourites for the Copa and have a decent shot at CL despite what anyone says. The sky is not falling.

I'm sure you were amongst the same lot that moaned about how the likes of Morata, Asensio, Kovacic, Isco, Ceballos etc. were going to dominate us for the next decade after the SuperCup loss back in 2017.

The idea that a 20 goal Hazard, a few talents like Militao, Jovic, Mendy and possibly another big name like the overrated Pogba are going to reverse Madrid's current predicament in one summer is sheer bollocks.

Hazard is a world class player who will create many chances for them. These “talents” are the world class players of the future and fit into the system that Zidane plans to use. Hazard and Mendy’s combination on the left flank can be lethal. Jovic is there for the goals and will be on the end of crosses Zidane loves to use, and can now take the load off Benzema. They have a unified and coherent vision for success at that club. Barca collects buys players with no thought for how they will fit in.

You also underestimate the power of Zidane.

Lots of speculation and assumptions. Football is not that simple.

Jovic could be their Suarez or become their Malcom/Dembele. Mendy could be their Alba or become their Semedo and Hazard could be their Messi or become their Coutinho. Militao could become either their Lenglet if he pans out or their Mina if he falls flat on his face.

Those players could become massive hits or just as easily fail miserably. Zidane is a good coach, but he isn't capable of maintaining his intensity for the 38 rounds of a league season.

Madrid will be better, but I'm not convinced they are going to become this juggernaut overnight that will destroy us next season.

I just hope he takes more risks and tries different lineup combos. We are stuck with him so hopefully his balls drop and we play more attacking football.
