Yeah, I also think he played better in that game in 2014. He's the only player for who we can say that he played better in a game when he didn't score than in the game he scored a hattrick.

lol stats. What is for Messi a subpar game against the no 1 team in PL, it would be a great game from CRonaldo against Malmo.

Stats are shit when you consider that Messi vs City last year was 1 or 2 levels above the Messi from this year.

Honestly, the comparison is more absurd by the day.

Exactly. That's why I don't really get the comparison. Ronaldo wthout goals is usually a ghost. Messi can have GOAT performances without any goals (like you said his performances v. City last year were way better than yesterday's game).

Ronaldo is a great and historic scorer. Messi is a historic PLAYER. Big difference.
