Masch is under contract until 2018. Barca are under no pressure to increase that given he will be 34 by time it ends and has always said he wont retire at Barca.

With 3 years at Juve he would be 35 and maybe return to Argentina.

Yeah he has said that or at least rumours before that he intends to play in Italy and Argentina again before retiring.

Well he did say he wanted to play in Italy at least once in his career, and Juve probably offered him a chance of playing in the Midfield once again.

I think this would be a fair message to him as well, if it really is true that he wants to leave. Club needs to stand firm once in a while.

No one will know for sure,plenty of reasons suggested.
1-Tax case
2-Want new experience
3-doesn't want to compete with a new CB this summer.
4-And that is pure speculation from me,but it was said that Mascherano is seen as a future coach so may be he just want to have new experience with new league and new world class coach.mot players who intends to be coach are interested to be coached by many different top coaches and experience different leagues.
