Erling Braut Haaland

He doesn't just linger around the box, he links up well with Reyna, Sancho etc. Perfectly good at one touch give and go's. He's got a steady number of assists this season so far too.

Haalands link up is ok imo. Nothing extraordinarey, but able to shield the ball and play quick one-twos, which imo is enough.
I feel like having "too much link up play" is a thing for strikers. You obviously want your striker to be involved in the creation of attacks, but at the end of the day you still need someone to adress the final pass at. And when your striker is hogging possession, dropping deep or drifting constantly to the wings, you miss someone in the box. Obviously you can counter it via a 2nd striker, or have a winger like CR7 or Salah who is good at drifting in the center. But why make stuff so complicated, when you already have wingers/playmakers who do all that and probably much better than the striker anyway? And why let the wingers do the job the striker is best at?

You'd want your striker to have advanced hold up play and technical skills, but not be out of No. 9 position all game. Ideally finding a middeground somewhere between the Firminos and Icardis.

Whats up with all these big strikers who aren`t actually targetmen in this generation?
A couple of decades ago, someone of Haalands or Lukakus profile would definitely be targetmen, playing with their backs to goal, neither of them at all excell at it, and Lukaku is actually awful in that role.

Halaand and Fati, world's deadliest duo

To be fair, Eto'o wasn't a natural with his link up either. But he worked at it, and by the time he joined Barcelona was very competent at it.

Same goes with Haaland, he will become more competent with it and he is ok right, now but he will never be Firmino.

But do you want trinky dinky tiki taka at the 9 or do you want a tank that's gonna blast rockets into the opponents goal game after game, week after week?

Break the bank for him. Fati and he could be our new R10 + Eto'o (not same level obviously because R10 was an alien but still)

How much is his buyout?

Not only will we face stiff competition from Real Madrid (no idea how and where Real Madrid will find all the money to buy all those players they want), the likes of Liverpool and other EPL clubs will be there too. And Bayern too, who might get him for free in 2024. ;)
