RFEF begged them to delay the announcement, but Real Madrid and Lopetegui didn't give a damn.

You play with fire and you may get burned.

Florentino and Lopetegui played a dirty game and created a crisis/controversy merely days before their country began their quest for another WC trophy.

Sad.

And the worst thing:

Portugal gets lucky again.

Rubiales himself. He desperately tried to contact Lopetegui or Real Madrid to delay any announcement to no avail.

Went behind his back and announced it without even informing them properly, or at all.

Okay. Believe who you want to believe. And besides why would he beg for a delay in the announcement and then pretend they went behind his back? Nonsense really.

Announcing protects the interests of the squad itself. It's honesty.

Okay. Believe who you want to believe.

Yes, I am going to believe the President of the RFEF.

Who do you believe? Oh wait you're just blindly going to support everything your club does.

A fan without any perspective is a fanatic.

I mean you do realise he's losing face, because Lopetegui extension was his first proper decision as the head of RFEF? He's putting the blame elsewhere to protect his own job.

I don't really think we need to delve into perspectives. Not sure you ever go out of your way to look at things from RM's perspective TBH

This year was going to be their best chance to win the WC since 2010. Piqué and Ramos are aging and they still don't have the proper replacements. Having world class CBs has been the most important priority for Spain since they have always suffered lack of quality in this position even more than striker position. The fact that players like Puyol, Marchena and Piqué emerged (+Ramos successfully changed his position to CB) was arguably the key part in their success to a certain extent. And now they are just wasting their last hope that won't probably come for the next 10 years.

This is something only RM and perez can have the odasity to do, And think they can get away with it

Just imagine if Barca, Just FOUR days before spain start the world cup, Announced that they already meet, And agreed with the spain coach and will pay his buy-out clause as soon as the WC finishes.

The whole of spain will march into catalonia and hang all of the barca board members, And burn down the camp nou.

It's just so sweet and tantalizing, That in the end, It wasn't pique or other Catalan players that 'sold out' their national team, But it was their 'beloved' main club in the capital.

Isn’t this the Spain of old though? These sad issues are what made them the biggest underachievers in the history of world football. Luckily if it was not for Barca’s golden boys they would probably still be without a major trophy.

It seems as some have forgotten about the sad history of the spanish national team. At least RFEF has not.

If it true he didn't inform the RFEF, and that's what Rubiales said, then this is the only right decision.

Just disgusting way to deal with things, also signed the contract a few weeks ago.

Another way to deal with it would be RM and especially Lopetegui to deny all rumors and insist that he is 100% focused in the WC.
