yep. Messi's technique is probably down to blood transfusions.

I guess not. Growth therapy for Leo was from the year 2000; Luis Garcia del Moral is assumed to habe been a medical advisor in the years 2003/2004. I can't see any connection there. Furthermore, Leo was a kid back then and growth therapy isn't illegal. Also, the club only accepted the costs for the therapy - it was not performed by Barcas' medical staff.

Other than that, there is a serious doping problem in professional sports.

I'm sure it will stir up conspiracies, but maybe Barcelona were simply interested in working with the medical adviser of what we thought was one of the greatest endurance athletes; rather than seeking consultation on steroid use. Why wouldn't they, Barca are a big club and a popular organization with many people.
