The way they carry on, they could do an Arsenal of 03/04 and win the title unbeaten.

They could but I think once CL will continue in February and if they'll still have a 10+ points advantage in PL Pep will rest/rotate his starters before CL games so it's possible they'll lose one of those games.

What is far more important than going unbeaten, is the fact that they can annihilate the total points record for the PL with some margin.

They are just fucking killing it. I don't care how good your team is on paper. You just don't have 0 losses and 1 draw that too in the epl after 18 matches.

Did peak manu or peak liverpool ever come close to this?

Jose Mourinho on Pep Guardiola: "He had the goalkeeper of England [Joe Hart], he doesn’t like him. He buys the goalkeeper of Barcelona [Claudio Bravo], he doesn’t like him. He buys another one [Ederson], now he likes him" Has Zabaleta + Kolarov. Replaces them with 3; from Tottenham, Monaco + Real. Can we buy 6/7 players at same time + invest £600m/£700m? No. He buys he buys he buys. We can't"

Sure Pep spent a lot of money, however it all depends on how you spent it and so far Pep has managed to spend the money wisely on what he needed at City.

Mou and United are second in the standings in the EPL, they also have a good chance of making it to the quarter finals in the CL. However despite all that they are clearly far behind City not just in terms of points but in squad planning, and on field product and direction.

United and Mou can't complain about money as United itself is considered one of the richest and biggest supported clubs in the world. However their squad planning for years has been rather abysmal even under Ferguson's final years Squad planning wasn't good either but Fergie got the best out of the squad he had and still won the EPL title.

United despite spending so much money still have a lot of work to do in plugging up the gaps and finding a good style of play which can help them compete with City. But part of me reckons that Mou may have struggled to cope with football changing since his triumphs with Inter and Chelsea.

Funny hearing Jose talk about money, did he complain about money or have care about Wenger when he was spending Romans man at the start of big money coming into football.

lol Way past his prime. He would get bitchslapped by Guardiola even if he had the most expensive team of all time available. His best record at Madrid was still 6 points short of current City's point tally after 20 games and that was with Ronaldo scoring nearly 50 goals, Higuain adding 20+ from the bench while we had no striker at all after Villa broke his leg and referees adding another 10 points to Madrid's tally as usual.

Liverpool commentator and former defender Jamie Carragher simply destroyed Mourinho's opinion in a column in the Telegraph newspaper.

"Rewind to the start of this season and assess the head-to-head qualities of the United and City squads. Player-for-player, which would you argue was superior?

Was Ederson considered better than David De Gea? Were City’s centre-backs Nicolas Otamendi and John Stones preferable to Eric Bailly and Phil Jones? Did United fans want Fernandinho or Nemanja Matic?

United broke the world transfer record to sign Paul Pogba, and then made Romelu Lukaku the most expensive Premier League player of last summer. Which English clubs made bigger statements of intent?

How many United or England fans would have swapped Marcus Rashford for Raheem Sterling a year ago? And when Anthony Martial first arrived from Monaco, was his reputation greater than that of Leroy Sane when he joined City?

Although he was signed before Mourinho’s appointment, Luke Shaw was a £30 million full-back – more expensive than City striker Gabriel Jesus. The United manager’s complaints about the value of the squads do not add up."

"The financial power at City enabled Guardiola to create a team in the image of his great Barcelona side, but many of those he has improved were at the club. De Bruyne was an excellent player before Pep’s appointment. Now he is the best player in the Premier League. David Silva has been revitalised with a change of position in central midfield. Who else would have put him there? Would Fabian Delph or Otamendi be the players they are under Mourinho? Do not forget Guardiola also inherited an ageing squad and had to ship out and replace plenty of players."
