Yes but a club's finances are always a check on their ability to buy new players.
There's no guarantee all these players will do well for them. They also bought just ONE senior player last summer, compared to most other clubs thats poor considering Newcastle needed the extra players, so they were behind from the get-go.
Newcastle are just shrewd in their transfer dealings. For a little more than the price Man. Utd paid for Zaha, they got 5 players.
Also interesting that they signed 4 in 4 days once Mike Ashley got involved. The Geordies will probably be singing his name tomorrow.

English players are obscenely overpriced these days, because the English system is so far ahead of others in Europe financially.

thats a bit harsh, i very much doubt that pardew has much say in transfers at newcastle, the emphasis on looking for players in france has obviously come from other people at the club.............

So Joe Kinnear situation is their new director of football. This whole situation is priceless! 
For those of you don't remember, he had a brief stint at Newcastle as manager before he quit after suffering a heart attack. The most notable thing about his reign was this press conferance where he went mental at the journalists.
He gave a radio interview the other day where he mispronounced a load of their players names and made a fool of himself in general.....
He said Galtierrez instead of Gutierrez as well.
This is going to be interesting.
