semi-final worthy performance. Even if this game didnt win the tie, it was a treat for every Bayern fan and player and might be an incredibly important win for their mentality. They really believed in actually winning the tie with a miracle scoreline, absolutely amazed by that.

Their success next season will depend on how well the squad's renovation this summer will go. I think Guardiola is slowly learning from his mistakes and if he has a better squad available and the players stay largely injury-free, anything is possible.

Yes, massive respect. That's winner mentality, and it takes a champion manager to convince his team into believing that.

Bayern will take a step back continentally if they don't replace Ribery and Robben with competent alternatives. Landing De Bruyne or Anderson is going to be very big for them this summer. Mueller is awesome, Lewandowski is pretty great himself, but outside of those two the rest of the attackers don't inspire a lot of fear.

I look at Boateng a bit differently after this series as well.

It will be great if this face-saving victory keeps Bayern cloud-walking into the next CL season.

Bayern will have a lot on their hands with replacing their key players.

Ribery is 32 and will be 33 by the time CL quarter-finals will be played again.

Robben is 31 and will be 32 once CL KO football resumes next year.

Lahm is 31 and will be 32 once CL KO football resumes next year.

Schweinsteiger will be 31 when playing his next CL game.

Xabi Alonso will be 34 next season.

Dante :)lol:) will be 32.

So, that is 5 key players definitely going over the hill next season. This may well have been the very last good season for most, if not all of them. Some of them are injury-prone as well.

At least Robben is still a top tier player when fit.
Didn't Lahm want to retire soon? Before he got injured he wasn't bad either btw.

did u come to the conclusion they will be over the hill by looking at a number

No, the experience of following football for decades necessitates that these players are already in, or soon will be, in terminal decline. Just look at Xavi or Stevie G, did they forget how to play football? No, they just got old. Accumulation of games also means that the wear and tear catches up with all players. It is inevitable.

Or conversely, do you expect them to keep going strong for several more years?
