This "new" Argentina looks really impressive at times. Fluid smart passing, no messidependencia in build up and Dybala + Messi working just fine. This is how competent coach can change the game.

Scaloni looks class to be fair to him

Don't forget all the other senior players he has brought in as well. Samuel, Ayala and Aimar. They are all class acts and mentors and know exactly what it means to play for the shirt.

Currently looks very good as a developing team:
GK Musso or Martinez, Pourtau as the youngster

Senesi, Quarta, Balerdi as young centrebacks and the best of them all Nehuen Perez. Fullbacks emerging to supplement Tagliafico like Facundo Medina and Montiel/Saravia the other side.

Plenty of midfield talent led by Palacios and Ocampos/Martinez to supplement the striking options. It is a shame to see the Copa cancelled and the WCQs perhaps squeezed in one off matches in Europe if the pandemic persists. Several youngsters developing below that in another Palacios, Romero and Soule.

Former Argentina manager Alejandro Sabella has died at the age of 66.

He had been placed in intensive care just a day after the footballing world mourned the death of Argentine legend Diego Maradona.

Buenos Aires-born Sabella led Argentina between 2011 and 2014. He guided them to the World Cup final in 2014 before resigning after the tournament and didn't manage again

RIP :(

RIP

He did a decent job with Argentina, if things went just a little different he would have been remembered as a world cup winning coach.
They were quite solid in midfield and defense in 2014, and Messi and Di Maria created enough on the other end to give teams trouble.

Best Argentina NT manager of the past decade. Should have won a world cup.
