Best case scenario, Benz was manipulated by his pal and is not a mean dude.
Darker scenario, he tried to help his friend and blackmailers screw with an obviously submissive Valbuena.

Either way, he still deserved a good spanking hehe :jason2:

Not Christmas yet, but a song for Madrid's best player this season.

Someone needs to update this with Zidane's face instead of Mourinho's and the players from today. Maybe Valverde and Mendy.

250+ goals and 136 assists (all time Madrid record)

Probably going to surpass Raul's goal record give another 2-3 years. Fun fact, Raul only broke 30 goals one season, while being the main man. Something Benzema has only had the opportunity to do last 2 seasons and outside of his prime.

Can you imagine if Benzema was not there and Madrid had Vinicius who can't shoot to save his life, crooked Hazard, golfer Bale, and Jovic in their attack? They would've had more draws than Atletico. :lol:

While Benzema hasnt been as good as you guys try to portray, at least he actually showed up these last couple of seasons.
Vini and Rodrigo can turn into something good, and have shown that on occasions, but are still young and not ready to lead the team yet.

The rest of the attackers.....no where to be found.

Exactly. But they did not spend that much money as us. Fewer galactico signings that flopped. They are in a better position, but not by that much.

Some of the signings have to be evaluated some time next season.
The best one for now is Mendy, no doubt.

That's some downgrade.

Ramos, Modric, Kroos, Benzema. Nightmare to replace. Not to mention the money that are needed. And the way things are right now, you can pay 100m for a flop.

Mendy isnt a lesser Marcelo, he is a very different player.
We are replacing Marcelo with something different, a player who is better defensively, worse offensively.

You act as if this replacement comes with zero upsides, though ofc Marcelo in his peak years was incredible.

OK, but then you'll need to replace Carvajal with somebody who is great in offense. Either way, you're pretty much going to decline a lot in terms of offensive threat from fullbacks.

Same as we did with losing Alves.

Carvajal is 28 year olds, if nothing out of the ordinary happens, i`d say he should have roughly 4 years left at a high level, this is not an immediate concern.

Sure, but neither of Carvajal or Mendy is anywhere near Marcelo offensively. So you guys are losing a lot of creativity from fullbacks. Same situation as us with Alves. We lost a lot of flair and attacking threat once he was gone.

Raul peaked very early by the age of 25 and he had an absolutely incredible precision for a young striker, pure dedication to finishing, something Benz could only dream of.
He was also not the main man for product through much of the noughties (Ronaldo, RvN, even Higuain). He played a disproportionate amount because he was captain, for which the club used to get a lot of justifiable criticism.

Still a better finisher than Benzema. Ask any RM fan if they'd rather Raul or Benzema in a Clasico and you know who they'd pick.

They have way more money in the bank to splash on Mbappe, Haaland etc. I think they will be in much better position.
