It's not. The goal should be to get to and stay in the Segunda division. We risk relegation to the fourth division this season which is why we need experience in the team.

buying a few experienced players to act as a backbone for the team was introduced by pep and was what brought the b team out of tercera. whole mess started when we stopped doin that, so actually glad they'll try that approach again

If we win the Segunda/Liga Adelante with a bunch of experienced players without having the possibility of being promoted year after year, it is still not going to make me happy.

The primary role of the B team is not to win silverware.

You'd rather see the B team sink to unrecoverable levels than see them hire experienced players to stop that from happening?

Really?

The role of B team is to develop young prospects and that is exactly why we need this team to have many of its best players to be experienced and between the age of 23-26

People get the concept of B team wrong ,it isn't another youth team from the academy .it is a professional football team where the best prospects can learn and adapt to playing with & against men
This can't be happening with putting bunch of young guys in the team .it will backfire and hinder their development .

You need experience and you need it to be a team .those kids doesn't need to get promoted to B team to find it with players of their age or just couple of years older .they need to find more experienced players who fight for winning games because it is the way they earn their living .that is very underrated aspect in making a team being able to develop its youth .veteran presence

It has been this way most of the time and specially since Pep took the team when they got relegated to Tercera . The team need backbone of 23-26 years old players who would actually serve the best prospects good.
Lucho followed this model .you see names like Nolito and Soriano brought this team to success and helped their teammates .Yes they didn't get promoted to 1st team but they were so damn helpful

A huge reason of downfall of the team and the stagnation of player development in recent years is that we decided to go all youth gradually and then drastically in 2014 .
What is the result of that?a team with 14-15 players that you have read twitter La Masia accounts hyping?many players who will end up in 1st division teams somewhere in Europe? A mass production of good but not gr8 players?

The academy is there to provide FC Barcelona 1st team with gr8 players not with the Rafinha,Bartra,Montoya type of players .for that you need to be picky from the start and work hard to help the best .and not to try to help 20 or something young players

When the veteran player of the B team at the start of the season was Samper,Grimaldo,Dongou who are just 20 years old .that team was doomed for failure in every aspect and not just result wise but even developing players

I think the worst part of this has to be the dumb meltdowns on Twitter/Reddit in regards to this.

The La Masia account I follow and several other Cules on Twitter act like we literally are throwing gold away for garbage. Just throwing judgment that early without seeing the new guys even play a game yet for us.

I even seen people blame Robert for all of this  The dude just got here and doing two rounds at training a day to get Fit to play for the B team. I'm waiting for him to actually play a number of matches before we could judge him along with the other new guys.

Since the post "Golden" Generation their have been a lot of La Masia players who managed to get into the First team but most of them ended up not reaching that level the team needed. But the two in my opinion who have been the best La Masia Graduates since Busi are easily Thiago and Roberto.

I would love to see Samper and Kaptoum end up Joining Roberto and Thiago in that Category. Rafinha could be the Next one as he showed some Improvement before he got butchered by that Roma dude, I will have to wait till he gets back to see if he can keep Improving.

The B team has been garbage for years.

The last decent defenders to emerge were Montoya and Barta and neither are deemed good enough to even be squad players, so what does that say about what's come through since? Grimaldo was a big prospect but amounted to nothing. No decent right backs or centre backs.

The last decent midfielders to come through were Roberto and Rafinha who are good squad players for Barca but have been out the B team for a few years now and nothing has come through in their place other than maybe Samper.

The only decent forward is Deulofeu who is the best player to come through probably since Thiago but he needed 3 years out on loan to develop in the way he couldn't at Barcelona B.

The B team isn't fit for purpose at the moment.

that has more to do with the policy of getting the best out of messis remaining years and the subsequent focus on buying polished players instead of developing youngsters.

theres the same amount of talent coming through youth ranks as before only difference is the step from b team to first team is more difficult now.
