Hello From Bolton

Hi, I'm from a Bolton Wanderers forum called Burnden Aces.

We run a Q&A feature, where we get the views of other teams' fans. We play Barca B on Friday, and so I was wondering if some of you guys would answer these questions for us:

  • Who do you think are the best players in your team?
  • What style of football do your team play? Is it similar to that of the A team?
  • How have the B team been doing in their pre-seaon? What position will they be aiming for in the Second division?
  • The majority of posters on here seem to be from the USA or UK. What's it like to support a team from a different country?
  • Do you know much about our team? Who do you see as our best player?
  • And finally, what do you think the result will be at the Reebok on Friday?

I hope I've posted this in the right place! I look forward to reading your responses!

Hello and welcome

1. Tello
2. It's similar to our first team. Same formation too.
3. They haven't been great but they are missing some players.
4. I support Dinamo Zagreb as my first team. I guess it's not that different than supporting a local club if it's full of foreigners.
5. Davies, Petrov.. Obviously. You let Klasnic go?
6. Can't tell. B team is missing some important players as they joined the 1st team for pre-season.

We're not crazy for Eusebio (Barca B coach), that much I can tell you.

Hola!

1) Hard to answer, the best players from Barça B are doing the pre-season with the first team at the moment. But I would say Tello & Deulofeu.
2) Attacking football. Very similar to the first team.
3) As I said (and it seems like Bojan did as well) they are missing some key players so.. can't really say anything about it. Hopefully they will aim for the upper-mid table in the Liga Adelante next season.
4) I don't see Barça as a club from another country.
5) I know Muamba, Davies, N'Gog, .. no idea who your best players are to be fair.
6) You'll probably win, don't know by how much though.

Thanks Bojan.

Yeah, we let Klasnic go. He was fairly prolific, but incredibly lazy, and I don't think the Championship is 'big' enough for him ;)

Thank you Galning.

I can't say I'm too confident of a Bolton win myself, we lost a game 3-0 to Portsmouth at the weekend, and they only have 2 professional players!

Welcome!

1) Deulofeu, I think.
2) The same philosophy of the game as Barca A, attacking football.
3) As my mates said above: they are missing some key players...
4) I think it's normal to support a team from another country. You always need to follow your heart.
5) I know Fabrice Muamba, Ryo Miyaichi. Have no idea who's the best in your team.
6) No idea.

Thanks mixer!

We don't know if Muamba will be able to play again, and Miyachi was only on loan last season. Our best fit player would be Lee Chung-Yong, the player I think is our best, Stuart Holden, is out injured at the moment :( There is also Martin Sordell, who played for Team GB at the Olympics.

EDIT: Bojan, as I said, best players are Lee, Holden, Sordell and also our goalkeeper Bogdan is a great prospect. I like Barca, I always back them to win the CL and La Liga. I prefer them to Madrid, because they are a Man City kind of team, using money to get success, whereas Barca have an amazing youth system.

Yes, I remember that accident with Muamba ( :( Do you know something about his situation? How does he feel?) I know Miyaichi was on loan - from Arsenal - but I thought he's on loan for a year more...

the player I think is our best, Stuart Holden, is out injured at the moment

So the situation in Bolton is not the best? I hope they will survive :) Wish You all the best!

He is doing very well! He said in an interview recently that he played football with some other players when he was on holiday! He is going seeing a heart specialist soon to find out if he can play again. Thanks for asking!

It isn't great  We got relegated last season, and should be challenging for the title this year. Whether we can with our coaching staff and players is another matter... Good look with your season too!

1. Deulofeu and Tello like others have said, also Rafinha and Sergi Roberto to throw in a couple other names. But some of those names might be missing from this game.

2. Yes, we teach our B team (and the youth squads below it) to play like the senior squad in order to make it easier for them to transition to the first team.

3. The others here covered it, hard to say when they are missing some players that would otherwise be there. Though I am not a fan of Eusebio (Barca B coach) at all and I think the team could be doing better with a different coach - if Luis Enrique was still here for example.

4. I am American and support Barca in La Liga and Liverpool in the Premier League. I follow a couple other European clubs too (I love football and can't get enough of it) but those are the main two and the ones I get most emotional about, lol. I don't really like MLS and only very loosely follow my local club. It's a bit different because it's very hard to go to games - travel from the US to Europe is very expensive - but other than that I feel just as passionate as anyone else. I've been told by people from Barcelona that I'm welcome in their city and would fit right in. I don't understand those who think people from other countries aren't real fans of whatever foreign club they support. You can't help what club you fall in love with.

5. I know N'Gog because he used to play for Liverpool. How is he doing? I also know Holden since he's one of the more well-known Americans so I hear about him here. And of course Muamba, I'm glad he seems to be recovering well even if he might not play again. And then there are others that I know the names of (from watching Liverpool play against you guys) but other than that don't know much about them.

6. Haven't got a clue as it depends on who ends up playing. Hope we win though :)

Thanks for the the reply XaviMessiGirl!

N'Gog isn't doing great, he only got 3 goals last season, and seems to have done his back in over pre-season. We have another American called Tim Ream, who is a defender, looks like a good player, have you heard about him much?
