I don't know, maybe becuase we wanted his name and surname in the jersey, ANDRES INIESTA, but is too long, so he just simplified as "A. Iniesta". Or maybe because for him is cooler A. Iniesta that "Iniesta", is his decision.

In that photo is only correct the number, name are wrong. Iniesta will have A. Iniesta.

It's very common in Spain, especially with relatively common surnames.why
There's also a city named Iniesta, but many surnames come from regions or cities anyway

there really is a little town named iniesta, 30 km from fuentealibilla, in a province called cuenca
