According to Aguilar, Lovren is an another CB alternative who could strenghten Barcelona’s defense in January

Fits Barto type transfer like a glove TBH :lol: Liverpool may be dying to get rid of him for a good price since VVD-Gomez are doing better together than having Lovren there and Matip-Klavan are good enough as backups. Not a wholly terrible buy for under 25M, but this is ringing all the wrong bells. Abidal will probably try to block it anyway, but the sole possibility of replacing Pique with Lovren is fucking funny.

if we are going to buy somebody in Jan., it should be alderweireld as he's a quality defender and his contract is expiring in the summer.

This is only a joke, stay calm. Lovren is not a player for Barca but apart from that:

1) we won't need anyone in January since Umtiti and Vermaelen will be ready until than.
2) we will probably go for De Ligt or some other young player next summer and not this winter.
3) Lovren wouldn't be able to play CL for us.
4) we will probably buy a LB and not CB this winter.

Buying someone in a panic mode during January transfer window is a recipe for a disaster.

Klavan? Doesent play there anymore.

You know well enough that he wouldent be a Pique replacement but a short term solution. If he comes (and I hope he doesent) he will be our 4th CB next season.

Just for the record, I don't think Lovren is as bad as people making him. When he played beside VVD in an actual good defensive system he has done very well.
He is one of those who need to be part of the puzzle, he can't perform when the rest of the team is underperforming/
Any how, October international break is just full of bs rumors

Rules has changed, can register 2 players who already played in CL in January. So no more Coutinho like situation.

He is already performing way better than Pique, also reached WC and CL finals with a way worse team, it might be due to that his manager turns everyone into world-class, but just the attitude this guy has is something LFC fans love and is what we lack in our superstars squad, hes too old for us but I wouldn't mind him for this season.

Have people forgotten Matip was Liverpool's best CB until he started catching knocks? A dude like Lovren got torn to shreds against Spurs a year or two ago, got subbed out after 20 minutes and has since talked himself up to being "one of the best in the world", because he got a better partner to bail him out and set him straight in tough situations. He's basically a prick that has somehow not been pushed out to end up at a Genoese team.

Perfect Barto deal.
