Nice analysis.
Let me get this straight: Xavi fooled the whole world by making us believe that he's a playmaker - which he isn't because he plays too safe and short. On the other hand Cesc is everything a playmaker can ever aspire to be - probably since he led Arsenal to countless trophies way back when.

btt: Xavi all the way in pretty much everything despite taking direct free-kicks; this post-euro Pirlo-hype was so predictable.

Pirlo had the worst free kick conversion % of all players scoring atleast 1 goal in the big 5 leagues (1/30) = 3,33%.
Xavi scored twice (not sure how many attempts, but surely not many more, probably even fewer).

And Pirlo had a great season in Juve

Like many others here, I don't think BarcaForum.com is the right place for this poll.
Both Xavi and Pirlo are among the best in the world, the comparison is very difficult. But Xavi's passes are more accurate and he creates more chances.
Still, Pirlo is Italy's man of the tournament, for me.

Calma, calma
It's Xavi in my opinion. Outside of barcaforum and barca fans, Xavi is quite underrated because of Iniesta and Messi. Pirlo on the other hand has the spotlight on him due to poor Juve forward line and an industrious but not flashy pair of Vidal/Marchisio. That being said, Pirlo was definitely more influential last season.

This season, it's hard to say because Xavi is being boss as usual yet not with the "wtf moments" ala 2008-2011. On the other hand, Pirlo seems to be continuing his great run of form in Serie A but in CL he seems average.
