Maybe I'm wrong but I think it's 5 times without this season : 2009-2010, 2011-2012, 2012-2013, 2016-2017, 2017-2018

Most competition games scoring for a professional club in football history:

378 Pelé for Santos in 656 games 0,58 career ratio
378 Messi for FC Barcelona in 679 games 0,56 career ratio

not even close

274 Cristiano for Real Madrid

Next game scoring it is bye bye Pelé

edit:

And there we have it, it didn't even take 2 weeks, bye bye Pelé

New outright world record holder is messi with 379 games and counting...

Messi won now 10 Liga titles now, 2 more to tie with Real Madrid's Paco Gento who won 12 titles.

If he really intends to end his career here (unfortunately I doubt it) this is the record he most likely match/beat Gento to it. May be if we win CL this year he might have a chance on that record too.

League probably but CL? I doubt. If he wins CL this year he goes unmotivated for few seasons again and probably its to late to win another that time.

Messi's level of production in the most tactically advanced, modern era of football is downright outrageous. He has a couple of flaws (inspiring leadership, work rate) but there shouldn't be any doubt that the sheer scale of his talent is unmatched in football history. GOAT for me, and should be a shoe-in top 3 all time for anyone who remotely has a clue.

Messi isn't that far of now, he could take down the european record of league goals in a single league now held by Bican with 446 in Czech championship, and then next season take down Pelé's world record of 470 in the Sao Paulo state championship. If Messi continue playing for another 5-6 seasons he will take down Pelé's 541 goal record, which is just completely insane considering it will have been achieved in the most demanding league in the world for most of the time he was active.

Top Division goalscorer of all time as of 8th december 2019

541 Pelé 1957-1977 (470 in state league and 34 in Brazilian championship and 37 in USA championship)
518 Josef Bican 1931-1955 (72 in Austrian championship and 446 in Czech championship)
514 Ferenc Puskas 1943-1966 (358 in Hugarian championship and 156 in Spanish championship)
431 Lionel Messi 2004-? (all in Spanish championship)
426 Cristiano Ronaldo 2002-? (3 in Portugese Championship, 84 in English chamipnship and 311 in Spanish championship and 28 in Italian Championship)
418 Eusebio 1957-1979 (77 in Mozambique championship, 320 in Portugese Championship, 20 in USA championship and 1 in Mexican championship)
417 Imre Schlosser 1906-1928 (145 in Austrian championship and 272 in Hugarian championship)
416 Gyula Zsengeller 1935-1952 (387 in Hungarian championship, 6 in Italian championship and 23 in Colombian championship)
410 Jimmy McGrory 1922-1938 (all in Scottish championship)
405 Gerd Muller 1965-1981 (365 in German championship and 40 in USA championship)
405 Roger Milla 1970-1996 (253 in Cameroonian championship, 111 in French championship and 41 in Indonesian championship)
400 Hugo Sánchez 1976-1997 (123 in Mexican championship, 234 in Spanish championship, 37 in USA championship and 6 in Austrian championship)

You're welcome
Messi will get the champions league goals record in 3 season.
This season will bring Ronaldo’s lead back to 8. Next season to 2. Following season pass him.

Your working premise seems to be that Juve will get KOed in the Rof16 and we atleast make it to the semis or more. The gap is 13 right now so I can't see Messi scoring 5 more KO goals in a season than CR7 if they play similar amount of games.

I think missing some of the group games and being half fit for others hurt Messi this season. Let's hope we get an easier group and Messi plays all 6. That's stat pad time :crbust:
