This team would be a problem. Fast, experienced, physical back-four. A hardworking, tireless, physically superior and intelligent midfield. A fierce attack build for counterattacking. To top it of every player is strong in aeriel duels.

John Terry deserves to be called a lot different things, but fast? Really? I haven't seen Bale as left back for for long time, but last time I did, he was bad, like really bad. He'd not be allowed the freedom to attack, which is his obvious strenght, and even if he did, we'd exploit the wide open spaces behind him. The midfield is too slow for my liking, and I think we'd run and pass circles around them all night long. The attack is scary though, and we've seen at least two thirds of it hurt us a lot over the last few years.

5 man defense, with Lahm and Ivanovic being allowed forward in the occasional counter attack.

For the DM spots, I really would've liked Masch (in his 'Pool days) and Makelele or even Cambiasso in his prime, and I couldn't find any modern day DMs who can truly emmulate them in terms of speed, tackling prowess and and sheer nastyness, so I had to settle for De Rossi and Lucas Leiva. Who'd be better, if I wanted a fast, gritty and tough tackling DM nowadays?
Fellaini for the midfield spot. Able to tackle hard, hold up the ball well and deliver killer passes for the front duo.

Attack is a no-brainer for me. Both players have been horrible to us on the counter over the years, and The Drog's dirty play hurts us so bad.

As a whole the team is badass on set pieces, with heading specialists all over the place. They'd be happy to sit back, shut up shop and try to take advantage of every counter and set piece given, while playing as rough and dirty as the ref allows, and a bit more.
Width would be a problem, and the two fullbacks would have to provide some, without letting the 3 man central defense too much alone.

Put Benzema instead of Gomez. Gomez is tall and good in the air, but as static as they come, which would be the worst possible CF against Barca. Besides, with Falcao you don't really need a out-and-out number 9, but someone who can play with the goal to his back as a SS, and have the ability to score as well. Benzema will help out in the playmaking and track back when needed.


I'd personally put the best Barca eleven against each other. See how Pique and Puyol would deal with Messi, Villa and Pedro, and vice-versa. Would Busquets be able to contain Xavi/Iniesta, and Xavi/Iniesta outplay Busquets?
