    Default Messi is like César

With his hat-trick against Málaga, the Argentinian forward finished his best first half of La Liga in his career (22 goals) and drew level with the record set by César, until now the highest Barça goal scorer at the halfway point in the competition.

At the Rosaleda Messi scored his 15th hat-trick as Barca player and his fifth this season- to close out the first half of La Liga, in which he scored 22 goals. He’s equalled the historic record set be César, who also scored 22 goals in the first half of the 1950/51 season. Simply put, Messi is a goal-scoring machine.

Four goals more than last year

Furthermore, he’s scored four more goals this season than he did last year (at this point in 2010/11 he had 18 goals) and seven more than two years ago (15 goals). Until now, Messi had only scored one goal away from the Camp Nou this season, it was at San Mamés.

    36 goals this season

In total, this season Messi has scored 36 goals in 32 official matches: 22 in the Liga, 6 in the Champions League, 3 in the Spanish Super Cup, 2 in the Cup, 2 in the Club World Cup and 1 in the European Super Cup.

As a Barça player, he has scored 216 official goals for the team. He’s only 19 adrift from the all-time top scoring record, currently held by César (235).

assuming he doesn't get injured -we pray- he should be the top scorer within a couple of months, at only 24.

Had a great game yesterday, but imagine if he had been scoring more regularly away from home this season? he'd be in the 40's already

its amazing how he has a godlike season, then continues to do even better the next year..

    Feels my heart with joy...
"I pass and I move, I help you, I look for you, I stop, I raise my head, I look and, above all, I open up the pitch...The one who has the ball, is the master of the game...That's the school of Joan Vilà, of Albert Benaiges, of Johan Cruijff, of Pep Guardiola" - Xavi Hernandez

I feel bad for those who want to break his record(s) (and those he havent even achieved) imagine how many goals he'll score if he continues like this until 34. LOL
I think it'll take another 50 years to beat his record

    Just
Alfredo Di Stéfano, Real Madrid's greatest ever player and the honorary president, spoke out. "Barcelona's football was simply brilliant," he said in his weekly column. "Their superiority was there for the whole planet to see: the whites were cornered all game. Barcelona play football and dance. They treat the ball with adoration and respect, almost nurturing it. To see this team in action is a delight."

Smells like sex up in here.... thought I was in Victor's thread for a second.
When Mourinho insisted that he and Guardiola were the same, the Barcelona coach said: "I will have to revise my behaviour then."

He really should be left alone...let the genius do his thing...and protect him
Paolo Maldini - "In my opinion, Messi should win the Golden Ball each year. He's an unbelievable player."

I do not agree if you are serious.Ronaldo only has powerfull kick(off course he has,he's 186,Messi only 169 tall)
Messi will be what no other player in history was.But I am VERY affraid that bastards that envy him and us will try everything they can to brake his tiny leggs. So far God guarded him.God,please save this kidd that brings beauty to your world
