I actually enjoy the clasico's a lot.. it's always another epic battle .
winning the Cl will always remain the ultimate target for Madridista with this generation or the next one.
winning the league back would be a step in the right direction but not the end of the journey
however what if a third team wins the CL ? .. We've seen such things happen all the time![]()

Alfredo Di Stéfano, Real Madrid's greatest ever player and the honorary president, spoke out. "Barcelona's football was simply brilliant," he said in his weekly column. "Their superiority was there for the whole planet to see: the whites were cornered all game. Barcelona play football and dance. They treat the ball with adoration and respect, almost nurturing it. To see this team in action is a delight."
When it comes to a high caliber competition it never really matters who you win against as long as you win coming from the position RM are in. These matches had to happen sooner or later and it just happened that they would be a final and semifinal games. Primary objective is always winning the competition, not thumping Barca.
I think you're missing the point from my post.
Mourinho,Guardiola,Emery,SAF,Wenger and every other manager in the world plays with the same exact mindset each and every league game: try to win.
It's not like Mou is going to give up on the classicos and focus on the other games which is what people are suggesting.
I think Mourinho will have every intention to get something out of the away league fixture clasico. It makes perfect sense. It nullifies the ’six pointer’ effect and he can get away with his anti-bernabeu pleasing lineups and play defensive.
What we Madridistas consider the Classico to be as fans, and what they tangibly mean to the league standings is another. Winning Classicos to me is always very important, it is rivalry and we need to mop the floor with you.
Mourinho, so far, has failed to beat you or save the club's image even at home. Call him shit and I might agree. Call him a coward and I might agree too. It is not about what I think, it is about what club has won in the end.
If the team can withdraw some confidence from each Classico loss to win the next matches, even the silly ones that count just as much, then it is the best of a terrible situation. If the team can win a title, it will give the team purpose for next year. Come next year though and if the team still hasn't improved, as in still no CL or Classico wins, then yes it is a different story. Right now, as it stands, I WILL take the league title even if we lose the Classicos.
