Xavi knows how loved and valued he is by everyone at Barcelona and all Barcelona fans.

He doesnt need an award to know this.

Just like Pep said, this prize doesn't belong only to Leo, it belongs to all our players and coaches because without a team effort there wouldn't be any individual award. Yesterday I couldn't watch the ceremony because I was pretty sad after Barca's performance against Espanyol , but congratz to Pep and Messi!

Many believe that, for Messi to make his success complete, he would need to win something significant with the Albiceleste. The only venue I see for this to happen is either the WC 2014 or the WC 2018. Copa America doesn't cut it.

Since we all admire him and wish for him all the awards that he can get, there could be a problem for a non-Argentine to wish Messi to, say, ...win the next WC... If you are a Spaniard you would basically have to wish that Argentina, with Messi at the helm, beat and leave Spain behind, and the same goes for Germans, Brits, Italians, Dutch and even the very Brazilians and Charruas. Every non-Arg will say "I love the guy and he deserves to win all the possible achievements, but not at the expense of my country's national team.

Also, very important: The "rest" of the Argentina NT.
Is Chile third in the world? NO
However, Chile was 3rd in the 1962 WC - Why? Because Chile had a super prepared team that played as a team as good as Brazil (1st), Chekoslovaquia (2nd) and Yugoslavia (4th). If Argentina with the awesome individualities could play as a TEAM the way Chile did in 1962, nobody could possibly beat them.

Conversely, if the team doesn't play well as a team, there's nothing that a single super star can do. Could we declare the Didier Drogba of previous WC's a failure because he couldn't make Ivory Coast a champion? Of course not. The Argentina at the Mexico WC was a much better team, Maradona or not Maradona.

Messi cannot carry the load all by himself. Winning a WC for him would be awesome and historic, but he'd be no less if he doesn't win a WC.
