Thread: What is our No.10 going to win with his National side?

  1. #1

Question What is our No.10 going to win with his National side?

There has been this debate going on since Leo Messi exploded in football world sweeping trophies and dominating consistently in every stage he has entered with his club, that is he the greatest player to have ever kicked a ball?
He has been crowned the best player on the planet twice in a row and has convinced the greats of this sport to be a once in several generations phenomenon. However there is a but , a rather big but to him claiming the ultimate greatness. Having won every thing there is to win with his club doing all kinds of wonders and magic, he has often fallen short of expectations with his national side. This debate going on that if Leo Messi is going to be known as greatest football player ever, or for some, a true great in the first place, he should win big trophies with his country as well as his club side. Argentina, with Messi playing, has failed in two important tournaments, Copa America and Fifa World cup. At 24 Leo's greatest wish is to gain the success of Barcelona with his National team. So what do you think? will he retire, having won it all or hang his boots empty-handed with his national team?

"I give you my word that we will work hard. I don’t know whether we’ll win but we will always try hard. So fasten your seat-belts, you’re going to enjoy the ride”
    Pep Guardiola

And We did enjoy the ride, Pep, Thank you for every thing.

Copa America in the next 10 years is a possibility

"I pass and I move, I help you, I look for you, I stop, I raise my head, I look and, above all, I open up the pitch...The one who has the ball, is the master of the game...That's the school of Joan Vilà, of Albert Benaiges, of Johan Cruijff, of Pep Guardiola".

This part of the Argentinan national team is capable of winning something. The defense though ... Well ... If they still have to nominate the likes of Demichelis, I'll say: nothing.
(...) and Carrick was faced with Xavi and Iniesta coming past him, and Messi in behind him. That’s 3rd, 2nd and 1st in last year’s World Footballer of the Year award forming a triangle around him – he desperately needed help (...)

    - ZonalMarking

Barca hold a key advantage here again, however, where Busquets has carved out a niche in shadowing deep-lying attackers. He knows what they eat for breakfast.

They want to be the best and have the players to take them there. Unfortunately, it takes more than 11 fancy names to win World Cup.

would be a miracle if Argentina wins the World Cup. Since it's in Brazil I'll probably be laughing hard at the Brazilians if by any chance Argentina wins it on their ground.

Argentina or Uruguay winning here would be a dream for me. An european side wouldn't have the same negative effect. This way that corrupted ricardo teixeira'd get what he deserves. But Argentina has a lot to improve to make that happen. Right now I have more faith in uruguay.

Copa. I wish him the best and hope he wins the WC but the Argentina team is in shambles and there's little light at the end of the tunnel. Actually, that's what Argentina is: 11 ferraris stuck in a tunnel while the trucks of Spain and German crash through.
    I found the thread!

You do realise if Barcelona don't win La Liga... they're not the best team in Spain then...... You have to be the best team in your country first.. La Liga > CL.

You do realise if Barca don't win La Liga but win both matchs vs RM.... winning la liga but loosing vs your only true, eternal, hated, reason for crazy spending (world record), catalan opponent....and getting real lessons of football like schoolchildren learning from the divine Master in front of billions of television viewers.....uah, uah, uah, yes legally RM will be best team in Spain, but i dont know how many peaple really believe it.
