    Default FIFA Puskas Award 2011

It is time for you to get involved and help choose the winner of the FIFA Puskas Award 2011. Videos of the FIFA Football Committee’s top 10 goals are now online, and all you have to do is vote for your favourite. FIFA.com users, now is your chance to decide who wins this prestigious award!

Every goal has been chosen for its aesthetic quality and the importance of the match in which it was scored, as well as the absence of luck or mistakes by the opposing team. Fair play and the date of the goal were also deciding factors. The result is a shortlist containing everything from solo efforts and long-range strikes, to lobs, volleys and spectacular scissor-kicks.

Whether it be by Benjamin De Ceulaer , Giovani dos Santos, Julio Gómez, Zlatan Ibrahimović, Lisandro López, Lionel Messi, Neymar, Heather O'Reilly, Wayne Rooney or Dejan Stanković, it is time for you to tell us whose goal you like the most. You can vote until 5 December, at which point the three candidates with the most votes will be revealed. You will then have until the FIFA Ballon d’Or Gala 2011 on 9 January to vote for the winner.

The winning goalscorer will be announced at the FIFA Ballon d’Or Gala on 9 January 2012, where he will collect the FIFA Puskas Award trophy with his name engraved on it.

To vote for your favourite goal, simply watch the videos and click on the “Vote” button. Voting restricted to one vote per person and closes on 5 December 2011.

Anyone who doesn't vote for Heather O'Reilly is a sexiest pig.
Football is a simple game, complicated by idiots.

    1) Ibra
    2) Neymar (wow! haven't seen that one before. sexiest dribbling ever! me now neymar fanboi!)
    3) Dos Santos (smart, precise... awesome)
    4) Stankovic (bit of a fluke maybe, but still...)
    5) Rooney/Lopez. It's hard to tell which one is better between Rooney's and Lopez's goal, as the only difference is where the cross is coming from.
    7) Messi
    8) De Ceulaer
    9) Gomez
    10) Heather's goal is all about power, so the only thing that makes it worth this list is that a girl scored it.

Fifa is corrupt, yet another proof of that is the exclusion of Messi's goal vs Merda... how is this possible.... even a blind man can see it was the goal of the season hands down. (CL semi, against biggest rival, at their own stadium and beating 5 friggin players...)
Thank you Pep, forever in our hearts!!!

How is Rooneys shinnie better than Messis goal vs Real?

Messi actually only beats 2 players vs Real. I agree it was his best goal, but even if it was nominated Ibra's, Rooney's and Neymar's goals were all better.

You also have to take into consideration the magnitude of the occasion and the level of the opposition.

Champions League Semi-Final, Real Madrid, The Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, it doesn't get any better than this.
Alfredo Di Stéfano, Real Madrid's greatest ever player and the honorary president, spoke out. "Barcelona's football was simply brilliant," he said in his weekly column. "Their superiority was there for the whole planet to see: the whites were cornered all game. Barcelona play football and dance. They treat the ball with adoration and respect, almost nurturing it. To see this team in action is a delight."

Not really, it's an award for the most beautiful/stunning goal. Level of opposition and occasion is irrelevant.
