This is a thread about our former youth team players. From the Pepe Reinas and Artetas to the Gai Assulins of the world.

You could argue that this belongs in the "FC Barcelona: Win of the youth system" thread, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to create a more specific thread.

I'll try to compile a list for reference, and I'd like your help :)
The players must have played for us before the age of 18, and have made appearances in youth or reserve teams.

Goalkeepers:

"Pepe" Reina - 7 years at Barca - Liverpool
Alex Sanchez - ??? years - Zaragoza (problem: there used to be a one-handed striker with the same name there, so difficult to find information)

Defenders:

Fernando Navarro - 11 years (+ 2 on loan) - Sevilla
Jordi Alba - 7 years - Valencia
Alberto Botía - 6 years (+ 1 year away on loan) - Sporting de Gijón
Ignasi Miquel - 5 years - Arsenal (after 4 years at Cornellá)
Héctor Bellerín - ? years - Arsenal youth
Pol García Tena - ? years - Juventus youth

Midfielders:

Mikel Arteta - 3 years (+ two away on loan) - Arsenal (ex Everton)
Marti Riverola - 14 years (+1 on loan) - Bologna
Oriol Romeu - 7 years - Chelsea
Fran Mérida - 7 years - Atlético (loaned to Braga)
Iago Falqué - 7 years - Juventus (loaned to Tottenham)
Víctor Vázquez - 14 years - Club Brugge
Roberto Trashorras - 8 years - Rayo Vallecano
Jordi Gómez - ?? years - Wigan
Jon Miquel Toral - ? years - Arsenal youth

Strikers:
Luis García Sanz - 4+ years at Barca (multiple loans etc) - Puebla FC (Mexico) [ex Liverpool, Atlético]
Bojan Krkić - 12 years - Roma
Giovani Dos Santos - 6 years - Tottenham
Jeffrén Suárez - 7 years - Sporting Clube de Portugal
Dani Pacheco - 4 years - Liverpool (loaned to Rayo)
Rubén Rochina - 7 years - Blackburn
Sergio García - 7 (+3 on loan) - Espanyol
Gai Assulin - 7 years - Racing Santander
Mauro Icardi - 2,5 years - Sampdoria

Retired (for special players only):

Iván de la Peña - 7 years - Espanyol

The list is pretty rubbish right now... any ideas on how to organize it? Should it include honors? Or at which ages the players joined/left?

The idea of adding at wich age the joined/left is good, and if you also can put there new clubs it would be great!
More players:
Xavi Torres
Nolito(?)
Giovani dos Santos
Oleguer

Thanks for the reply :)
You're right, the current clubs should be listed! Thing is, though, that I am afraid it might get to messy if I add at which ages every player played here. Maybe I'll just do it for the more famous ones.

I actually had Oleguer on the list at first, but then I noticed he joined Barca at 21. I'd love to have Nolito, too, but he doesn't qualify :(.

But you could still discuss him :)

Edit: Xavi Torres joined at 21

Rochina, Bojan, Jordi Alba, Sanchez (that GK that we can buy back), Chanturia (playing in Netherland I think)
//Hector Bellerin was here 10 years, he joined FCB Escola as 6 years old

Thanks, Yugi!

Can't believe I forgot about Alba... Chanturia only played for a year or two, so not sure if I'll add him yet (and he's difficult to find information about)
I guess I'll add Bojan, but isn't he on a two-year loan?

Wenger, are you serious or just trying to troll us?

Oh and it would be nice to have players age and year when they joined our ranks. I believe everyone can count from that their departure and age at that time.

Oriol Romeu added (thanks). Iván de la Peña, Fernando Navarro, Luis García, Jeffrén and Pol García added as well.

@ Galning: Thanks

Thought about adding Thiago Motta, but he was bought from Juventus at 17 and never played in our youth teams, only Barca B... so I'm not sure.
