Our best player against Huesca, a joke team currently last on the table.
Good.

Wind made the difference, you could tell. One side of the pitch received something like 5.0m/s which made every cross impossible to predict for the defense, a few of these Courtois had to actually tip over the bar because the trajectory was awkward. Courtois and Solari both said it.

That and Huesca actually coming out to play and fight for their first win on their home ground against a side they know smaller teams can get at. A lot of tiny teams show up more often than Bilbaos and Villarreals do this season. Not really worthy of being called a 'joke team' at all.

Eh, lets not turn to Xavi-esque excuses (grass was too tall, it has been raining etc.), even if it was windy, this was a bad performance by us.
And yes, Huesca is not a good team at all, hence their abysmal results so far.

Huh? What's the excuse? Wind is not something trivial like rain or mud as Solari put it. Compare how the performance went straight down in the 2nd half when they've moved onto the goal that received substantially more gusts. Obviously both teams play under the same circumstances, but it's 5x easier to get lucky from crosses that suddenly turn into shots by external influence.

Nor was it all bad. Bale played well albeit he's a moody bastard. Lucas in contrast is very stable as a team member regularly improving the right flank defensively. Llorente steadily improving. Varane and Ramos pretty average by their standards, but conceding far less on the whole (mostly because Marcelo didn't play for ages). Bad performance? A drab one, a lot of misplaced passes from the middle in transition and piss poor input by Benzema. On the whole everything that was bad came from lack of accuracy, which could absolutely be put down to wind. These games happen every season and people only get worried about it now, because we've decreased in quality but it's inconclusive whether this is a symptom of stagnancy under Solari.

For all the Barca-fans laughing at Courtois, our problems as a team is not his fault, he has saved points for us a bunch of times in la liga, including today.

These kinds of games separate shitty overrated keepers from great ones. 90 minutes of Rayo not getting into our 3rd of the pitch, one fluke chance and he saves the game. All the talk of a weird transfer, but it really, really helps having this kind of keeper behind the defense line. You could notice the guys were even standing off the long shots quite a bit, because of growing confidence in Courtois tracking them all along.
