lol, i think we need a Sundanese coach this time. these foriegners don't understand our way of football. i think we stand a chance of quarter finals if we actually play to win instead to draw.

Kenya drew 0-0 with Uganda, so they're out. Angola beat Guinea-Bissau anyway, so it wouldn't have made that much of a difference I guess.
at least Mali are through!

Well our current coach Mazda is Sudanese, and will most likely be the coach during the finals. I don't like him at all though, he likes the old fashioned useless Sudanese tactics, always afraid to try something knew...
To be fair to him though we did well in the qualifiers, 13/18 points is excellent, but I just hate how we're so un-clutch under him...
Alfredo Di Stéfano, Real Madrid's greatest ever player and the honorary president, spoke out. "Barcelona's football was simply brilliant," he said in his weekly column. "Their superiority was there for the whole planet to see: the whites were cornered all game. Barcelona play football and dance. They treat the ball with adoration and respect, almost nurturing it. To see this team in action is a delight."

when im in sudan and i see the kind of talent we have. and it's all undiscovered. iv seen players that would easily make the starting line up of any premier league team but in sudan they remain undiscovered. it's so annoying.
the other good news is al hillal might get a free ticket to the final becuase the caf are considering punishing the tunisian teams.

Fully agree about the amount of undiscovered talent we have in Sudan. Some of the college students I used to play against could easily walk into this team IMO, the path to becoming a pro in Sudan is not as clear as it should be unfortunately. The change has to start from the top, ie. management in the SFA, starting with Shadaad. We need fresh blood in the SFA, someone who is 'current' and devoted to the purpose...Its such a shame to see all our young talent go to waste, it really is...

yh its so annoying watching players who use space brilliantly and play with incredble skill play on 3rd division soil. and then you watch these shit old men like al ajab play in the national team. and even in the youth system's of al hilal and merikah everything is money and it's just a bunch of rich kids whose parents pay for them to play in the academy and the academy just takes them in for the money. shadaad is a money who knows nothing about sports, he shouldn't have any power in the SFA what so ever. i think if we can set up a academy programme lik ethe one is qatar giving a chance to talented kids to have trails in the biggest clubs in the world. maybe bring in some football scouts and show them around the the soil grounds of the 3rd division - in just a matter of 5 months we could have a about 6 or 7 Sudanese players in the premier league or la liga

Truesay...
Easier said than done though, and with the current state of affairs in Sudan football is the last thing on their minds. Qatar has unlimited oil money, we're not so fortunate. We need some serious investors, but its kind of hard to attract those in our current condition...Having said that even with whats available atm, things could be a lot better if we had someone who gave a fuck about youth development in the higher positions of the SFA

man i just read on the bbc website that we still need tanzania to beat Morocco. i hope they are wrong
Mes que un club!!
Not really I did the calculations and it should be impossible for anyone from that group to beat us to the spot. Its a bit complicated since you have to disregard any results with the last place team due to Mauritania pulling out and leaving a group with only 3 teams. The thing about the Morocco group is that the last place team could easily change tomorrow, making the calculations even more confusing. However I tried out most possibilities and I'm pretty sure there's no way a team from that group can get our spot.

the celebrations start tomorrow. how many teams will be in the competition - they really messed up thinks this time
Mes que un club!!
Its all because Mauritania pulled out, they complicated the permutations due to the disregarding of results vs last placed teams in the groups...
So far 15 qualified, and only one spot is left and it should be ours unless something very unlikely happens tomorrow.
Basically for us to not qualify, BOTH Morocco and Central African Republic will have to beat Tanzania and Algeria respectively, and it doesn't stop there.
Even if they both win, we should still qualify UNLESS,
- Morocco wins by 5 goals or more than CAR ( highly unlikely ).
- CAR win by 2 goals more than Morocco BUT they score less goals than them ( also unlikely )
So there is a very slight chance that we don't qualify, the permutations are certainly confusing and I'm pretty sure I still missed a few other unlikely scenarios but practically the 16th spot is ours...

and will the competition be group stages then quarter finals or is it round of 16 knockouts straight away. i really prefer if we start of against stronger sides because we seem to underestimate the smaller teams

cool, i got high hopes for us especially as the "top dogs" are looking weaker than they used to be. I think we can beat them with abit of fear, most of them play in europe and care more about their club then national team, we can really scare them with some power (im not saying hurt them just scare them off), but then again most of our players are too old to even kick a ball. if it was up to me i would just player our Olympic team, they are much better.
