Another brutally awesome Uruguayan defender, Coates is 20 years old and plays for Nacional in Uruguay.

He has pretty good composure for a 1.96M guy and has seemingly only gotten better and better in his recent performances for both Nacional and Uruguay.

He was awarded best young player of the Copa America 2011, ahead of Neymar and a bunch of other overhyped players.

Sadly we missed the boat on him being a bargain, but he's a massive step up from the likes of Fontas.

yeah looks like a quality player...

could be a good signing for us but let's see how Fontas, Bartra, Sergi Gomez, Muniesa (if he can shake the injuries) do first...

Never heard of the boy. Good thing that talents mentioned in forum topics very rarely actually are involved in big transfer moves. I'd like to see him in Valencia or somewhere like that.

Is he faster than Fontas? Because if not, no thanks. Rather give Fontas time to mature than bring in another slow defender...or buy someone that isn't a turtle.
