Born: August 23, 1996
Position: Central defender
Preferred foot: Left

Xavi Quintilla was (last season with the Cadete B) will play in the Juvenil B team next year, skipping the Cadete A side completely.

He already played for them a couple of months ago in a tournament in Madrid.

Jeez, will there ever be a thread of one of our prospects without the big beaked Frenchman hovering like a vulture over it?

Wenger probably asked him to learn a bit more from La Masia before eventually joining Arsenal. There are a lot of skills that can't be taught and honed if you are in Arsene's Kid Academy.

Dunno about that now. Wenger's been trying to copy the Ajax academy like you guys did, and Wilshere is proof we can make youngsters that can go toe to toe with your's. Only problem is we are only allowed to have kids from within a 90 minute radius of the training center while FC Barcelona gets basically all of Spain to choose from.

Him and Rodrigo Tarin should make an excellent CB partnership when they grow up.
Quintilla can play CB and LB. Tarin can play CB, RB and DM.
Hope they're either both promoted to Barca B next season to play along with Bagnack and Ié (Sergi Gómez and Sergio Juste sold) and stay there for 3 season or both stay at Juvenil A for one more season, while playing regularly with Barca B.

We got beast centerbacks coming through La Masia.

Quintilla, Tarin, Pelayo Suarez, Marc Cucurrella, Carlos Blanco, etc. The future is bright!

I've heard that Adria Vilanova is quite good as well.

It's a pity.

Never really got a chance. At least he's going to a team with a coach that knows him though. Perhaps we'll see him return some day or make it somewhere else at a good team.

He and Tarin were a great CB pair coming through the ranks but as soon as both hit Barca B, Tarin became Lopez's number 1 and Qunti vanished.

Literally he was hardly picked, and was behind guys like Gumbau,Fali who weren't even CB's. I have no clue what happened there and why Lopez didn't trust him at all. but it will be a good move for him to move abroad and perhaps he could come back on day.
