And since when has De Gea suddenly become the best young keeper in the world? Is that a homemade title you give to all new transfers that arrive in Man U?

Neuer is pretty young and he shits on De Gea. As well as Hart.
Neuer is 25.. De Gea just turned 20. Most people know De Gea is the best young keeper.

    Thiago:
"‘De Gea will be the best keeper in the world in a few years," said Alcantara of his Manchester United-bound colleague.

"He has everything - the hands, strength and the feet. There is nothing in goalkeeping he is not brilliant at."

    Casillas:

"He will soon be fighting for my place. He's a great keeper,”

"The people of Atletico Madrid have to be so proud that such a great keeper has come out of their academy".

De Gea just turned 20? That was 8 months ago.

25 years is still young. As it is now Neuer is WAY better and more proven, you can't even compare them.

Lloris and Akinfeev are young as well and both better.

And where did I say that he was not talentful? Apart from that there is big difference from labelling him the best in the world...

Neuer is "young for a goalkeeper" but he's not a young goalkeeper. neither is Lloris or Akinfeev. of course they're more proven, they're older! they're all mid-20's senior internationals while DDG just turned 20 and is an u21 international. he's most definitely a young goalkeeper. and to be fair at least he doesn't look like he's going to have a heart attack every time someone crosses the ball into the box like Lloris does.

I would say that they are young goalkeepers (definition) but nevermind the point is, that De Gea might be the best goalkeeper who is 20 years old but apart from that he is not the best in any category.

De Gea is not exactly good at crosses either.

DDG is the best young goalkeeper. you cannot count players in their mid 20's in the same category as someone who just turned 20. that's too big of an age gap.

and he's good at crosses (certainly better than Lloris) it's set-pieces he really has trouble with. dude gets stuck to his line for a reason I have yet to understand.

De Gea still has a lot to prove, but undoubtedly he has massive potential.

I would consider anyone 25 or younger a young goalkeeper, considering goalkeepers can play until they are 40. In this sense undoubtedly Neuer is the best upcoming goalkeeper in the world. That is unquestionable imo. But De Gea and Hart are up there as potential world class goalkeepers.

De Gea is still a long way behind Casillas, Reina and Valdes mind in terms on national team prospects, but one would suspect once Casillas retires Spain would groom him as the replacement so they can have a goalkeeper in place for at least 10 years.

Based on last season, Tevez is worth two of Rooney.

See that's the problem, you can't judge on one season.

You mean the Rooney who at the end of last season drove us on to winning the league and getting to the champions league compared to your Tevez who bitched and moaned about living in Manchester ?

But of course FA Cup > League

    disagree.

both only really played for half the season (Tevez first half, Rooney second) but one managed to guide his team to the Title in the process.

and the lengths people will go to just to talk down a player now he's joined United. Neuer is an up-and-coming goalkeeper?

Neuer is 25 and has been established as Schalke's #1 since 2006.
Hart is 24 and has been a #1 since 2007.
Lloris is 24 and has been a #1 since 2006.
Akinfeev is 25 and has been a #1 since 2004.

DDG is 20 and has been a #1 since late 2009.

those four are established goalkeepers. they're not young or old (they're now "young for a goalkeeper"). now I know DDG has already won more trophies than Hart and Lloris combined, and has matched Neuer's haul already, but he's still a young goalkeeper.

now that's the end of that nonsense, if you please.

Or is it since De Gea have joined your 2nd favourite club he is now a hyped up as being the best of the rest?

I am not putting him down at all. I think he has amazing potential and can be world class. But to say he is a future man u legend is pure foolishness.

Same thing you always do with a man u player. Always big them up as such.
