I agree his WC didn't stand out that much but hes been pretty crucial for this France team, scoring when they were struggling in the group stages, setting up the first goal of the final (disgusting dive though) and scoring a pressure penalty. his club season he won the Europa league and was the main man in the final, Ballon d'or is awarded by the french and other than him, i don't think any other French players deserve the ballon d'or unless they do a Cannavaro and give it to Varane
