Vidal is a strange yet effective player.

He will have his dodgy moments on the ball depending on the teams he faces, but he's not that terrible like Paulinho was with it and can make some excellent passes himself as well. What sets him apart from Rakitic is both have a number of flaws with the ball, but Vidal's mobility and energy alone is much better than Rakitic and has aged better than the Croat.

Sure he's getting old but I think that is the biggest reason why Vidal is clearly ahead of Rakitic in the pecking order. Even for his flaws on the ball he still has stuff in the tank that is more useful to use than the likes of Rakitic.

I hope the rumors of selling him are fake news. Rakitic can go but we need Vidal until we can buy a 24 year old version of himself.

This guy is too infuriatingly limited on the ball to start games for us. And for all his 'warrior' qualities, he didn't even bother to move one nail to challenge for the ball for their equalizer.


Watching him trying to control and turn on the simplest of passes is a torture.

What are you talking about? Vidal was the player contesting for that header from Pique's long punt. He didn't even bother trying.

As a general midfielder, his passing accuracy is not as good as Busquet, Rakitic. As a Barca midfielder, he's not skillful. His heading is ok. His long shot is ok but Rakitic also has quite good long shot.
